130 X 36 x 36 inbound...any suggestions?

How is the tempermant of your Assassi? It is on my shortlist for my new build that I am currently stocking...

overall, ime I have found most lagoon (rhinecanthus) trigs to be quite mellow..I have had a crazy huma (aculeatus) in the past but the assassi is pretty cool...I did have all rhinecanthus trigs avail in this tank up until fairly recently and the most aggressive was a small, 2 inch, aculeatus..I have had this assassi for years, raised from a tiny 1.5 inches, and he is, for the most part, a mellow dude, I have seen him chasing the lunula evry now and then but it is not in a viscious way...good luck!
dd has a tiny one avail now...

its awesome how you've gotten ahold of such small and beautiful angels. I hope to see their development two years from now, although the Regal is slow growing ime. A few questions about your DT; do you plan on adding all these angels together in the future? Also, do you still have the queens?

Thank you...
yes, all will be added together...I sold a doz or so fish a few weeks ago including both queens..

Im not an expert, but I thought Juvenile Goldflakes had some black on there rear dorsal fin? I could be wrong.
IME, Rhinecanthus triggers are slow growing. Is that your opinion/experience as well? Im simply talking in correlation to other reef fish including other trigger genera? I had a Huma that I received at 4" and in 3 years it only grew another 2-2 1/2 inches. Was in a 180 and fed a varied diet and supplements as well. Would like to hear your thoughts on this!
You have a beautiful aquarium and youre stocking it with a lot of Dream fish. Im sure its well deserved. Good Luck!
Im also interested in a Clarion, if you wouldn't mind PMing me?
If not no problem.

hey there,
thank you! that black comes as they get a bit bigger...yes, rhinecanthus trigs tend to be very slow growers...some trigs like queens, clowns, fuscus, finescale and a few others grow very fast...I appreciate the kind words...ted...pm going out now...

she is doing great and seems to enjoy the company of the baby regal...but one Bandit has chased her a bit, so I tossed a bunch more small pvc pieces in the tank to give the 2 little angels places to hide...will post some pics this weekend...

tank bred Clarions? this might be a possibility...from the same group that gave us the tank bred Annularis this year...they think their newest batch is Clarionesis...should know more in the next couple days...crazy...
here is a pic...

That is awesome! I assume they aren't certain if its clarion because their breeders are mixed together? I remember watching their videos and seeing many different fish in their pond-type system. Unbelievable whatever it is!

oh wow ! that's amazing news and seems like we are getting good at breeding them, which means some Crazy hybrids will be entering the market soon ? wow !

angels could be like dogs, in 100 years we would have all these crazy different breeds lol

yes, that is true, but they are leaning, at least at this point, towards the fish being pure Clarion...simply amazing!! :p

Is that tank bred one a 100% clarion or a hybrid?

Amazing to see.

they think 100% Clarion but are also not mentioning what else is in that tank..would be cool to hear there was soemting else in there...could be some crazy hybrids....but I would be thrilled to have a tank bred clarion!
