Are you worried about your gh trigger eating any of your smaller triggers? My 6" GH has eaten a 4" wrasse, and I'm hopping he doesn't go for anything else...
Your tank looks awesome and nice to see your Titan. I am completely obsessed with Titan growth rates. So your guy/gal was 1 inch three years ago? and how big now if you don't mind me asking. My guy has gone from about 3 inch to 5 inch in the last 4 years. About 1/2 an inch a year and I power feed him all sorts of fresh seafood and pellets. In comparrison my Jewel Damsel went from 1 to 5 inch in a year. Titans just seem to never grow which makes me think those 2 footers that you see attacking divers must be 30 years old or something.
I also agree the Titans seem kind of mellow. While my guy seems quite bold and I doubt anything near his size would beat him up he doesn't seem like the killer they get branded. If I was to throw a more mellow fish in the tank I think the jewel would kill it and the titan ignore it.
titantv...this is the same titan I joked about setting up with Nacho about a year ago??? I will check my notes...should have the date I bought him...they grow slow but get so wide..unlike many other trigs that grow in length super fast but do not have any width to them....titans are like bowling balls...
Yeah Nacho is quite thick. Don't get me wrong I don't want a 30 inch monster as I'd have to buy him a new home and my wife already talks about swimming in the current tank and its only half what you have!!.
But I'd love him to get to about 14 inches and have full adult colors. I have yet to see one in a home aquarium with adult colors. Either the "adults" are old..and I mean OLD. I know some fish are long-life creatures so maybe these Titan live 70+ years in the wild or something...
Or we are missing something in the home tanks that make them change colors.
Titan, here is my titan...have had him for around 3 years...now about 4.5 inches....great fish, love them in general but this one is really laid back...the fuscus has already shown growth in the 2 weeks he has been in the big tank...nothing from the titan...I need a groeth spurt from him...the fuscus is about the same size now, though not nearly as thick....
I have a mappa puffer. I really like triggers but Im not sure about housing them together. Huma, you wouldnt happen to have any experience with that would you? I love fish that have substance and not just length. That titan is right up my alley.
well, the titan can be a beast...this tank is now home to almost every Rhinecanthus trigger you can get...my aculeatus and rectangulus are not in yet but soon...my titan loves to chase his reflection all day....the only problem fish in the tank is the Sohal....the Cinereus trigger is now in here...like I said in my other thread...acclimating the Cinereus was interesting...check out my Rhinecanthus Cinereus thread....
thanks...they all seem to be quite happy, for now..keeping my eye on the Cinereus...lights off and the tank is wrapped in blankets to keep dark....did just drop in some fresh shrimp and lots of shrimp legs...
