130 X 36 x 36 inbound...any suggestions?

So Ted, out of the 35 dwarfs...how many have you kept?...
There are a couple that I don't think I've ever heard of.

Awesome Colins! It has been one of the fish I have always wanted but have never had success with. I have tried a couple in the past bu they have always been extremely shy and wouldn't eat much and slowly faded away. Collection could have been an issue also with those fish.

Best wishes to her and the rest of your amazing fish!

Dave

A fine night for sushi:beer:

ha...I do know of a couple people who have had articles translated...maybe I will look into that...the mag has really terrific pics of stuff we don't see or commonly get here...
it is worth it just because of the pics....

Thanks Dave...Ilol, know who caught her but it was his packing that really messed the fish up, imho...she was in 2 small, thin bags with newspaper on the lower half, secured with 2 rubber bands and partially deflated...I would be surprised if there was more than 2.5-3 quarts of water, it was very sad to see...

here is she just a few minutes ago..she is moving around that little area and the candys seem to be sharing it with her...as mentioned above, I am loving that as the colins is able to see the candys eating...I still do not think I have seen her eat.
it is nice to see her come out, which I think she does every time I leave the room or stop moving for a few min at least, she acts like a colins should- she swims up and down the back glass and often hangs out sideways, parallel to the bottom of the tank...she was often upside down when I found her between the pvc or rock....

btw, I totally forgot to mention, I lost power for 9 hours on Sunday morning from 6:00am to about 3:00pm ...I got here around 10am and was told power would be back soon, so I didn't start up the genny, anyway, not a single problem but the colins was upside down and I thought she was dead again....

To add some 02 to te tank I stirred it every 30-45 minutes with a large slotted spoon...

Wow, not te best of luck the past few days... things will turn around for you! You know who collected the abberant? Did you express your dismay in the poor packing job especially on a fish not typically seen or collected? Sad they know how to catch the fish but have real trouble with a a quality pack job...:headwally:

lol, it's all relative....yes, I know the collector/wholesaler, but I didn't tell him I was bummed out. it isn't my place as I didn't buy the fish from him...
that is how they pack- they ship an enormous number of fish and are fine with their method, as it is quick and cost effective...they could not afford to pack like la/dd, they would go out of business very quickly...Pretty sure a huge number of lfs and many of the online vendors we know and use, get fish from them but that group sees things much different than we end-users do...
We expect the security of livestock arriving- well-packed in 4 gallons of water, in 6-8 bags, sealed with metal clips, in pristine coolers- full of noodles, and the bags are hard to the touch as they are so well-sealed and full of 02...
the colins was in 2 thin bags that were probably 10x14, the water was about 6 inches up the bag, and the bag was collapsing due to a weak seal...anyway, she is still with me, tomorrow is 1 week...

Ted,

Do you have any pods in the tank? Maybe adding a bottle of live pods wou;d peak her interest? I have used live Tiger pods in the past to get some response from difficult feeders.

Continued good luck!

Have you seen the Colin's that NYA has right now? I am tempted to grab it put am wondering how it looks and if it's eating anything yet?

Ted, that's an odd shaped pointed nosed Angel you have there, not sure I have seen Angel quite like that before, almost looks like a Butterflyfish...:lol: Congrats on that oddball, its a stunner!

lol, enabler...

Dang Skippy I am, aren't we all... Call me selfish, but the way I see it, the more your addiction is fed the closer we all are to seeing that pool of yours turned into "Teds Underwater Excursion" You know you want to, and I'm sure the kids wouldn't mind... :D

You know the rest of us addics need our fix also, can you say live streaming feed... :D And what better way could there be for you to view your collection? You could build a human viewing tank within your pool, and could be kicking it in an easy chair with your favorite adult beverage in hand whilst enjoying your collection; and when you are bored with that view you could take a leisurely stroll around the parameter and enjoy a top down view, Its a win win...

So when can we expect a new build thread?

lol, thanks for the laugh...

many of you know about my dad being sick and how he wasn't feeling up to attending Macna this past August and seeing you all...we all really appreciate the love and positivity you were sending.

I am sad to say I lost my dad a few hours ago...he was so stoked about my 30 year saltwater addiction but was super-proud of my obsession these past few years...he was so into the gp project and it brought him a tremendous amount of joy to see how excited I was with it, he was the guy I spoke to during the months I couldn't talk about it, with anybody else. when there were questions with some of the paperwork be generated, he was my main editor, outside of Karen and Rufus, my dad knew everything before anybody else...

rufus and Karen- thank you and much love, the gp project was really the last thing my dad I worked on together...he was so curious on June 20th when I got the gp and was equally amazed at the background story- what rufus and his team have to do during a deep dive...what Karen has to do to keep these tiny drops of life alive...

many thanks again...
