will this be ok? 6 ft long by 22 by 24 inches. Would I need two anemones or just one? I want naked clowns and a pair of snowflakes.

Dont do it. Also if you mean percula instead of percular neither one of those species are percula. They are both ocellaris.

It is a risk but it's yours to take I once ran a 30 gal with 5 tomato clowns and a green carpet never had any probs and they spawned just get a fish that kinda keeps them in order certain fish will stop others from fighting mine was a big blue devil damsel he would always keep fish in order but do what you feel if they kill each other lesson learned..... if they don't kill each other everyone will be amazed on how you did it your money your tank good luck on whatever you choose

Can we create an automatic response bot, so that every time someone asks this same question, over and over, the site automatically responds? This is getting ridiculous.

And before I get flamed for being rude - who is ruder? Me? Or the person who refuses to read the FAQ, do a basic search, or for that matter, read threads that have been posted in the last two days. I mean really - the thread posted three down from this asks the SAME QUESTION! :[

Unfortunately this is the disastrous advice/attitude that seems to be all too common in the hobby anymore :(. These aren't some cheap inanimate objects that if they get broke - oh well, go buy another one. They're living breathing animals that are dependent on us to provide them with the proper environment and care, and an environment that contains more than one pair is not an appropriate one. Anyone that has ever witnessed two clownfish going at it knows its not pleasant to watch.

In my opinion, it's similar to hosting a dog fight. "Let's just shove these dogs together in a ring and see if they kill each other".

The answer, in short, is "No. No. And three times no. Do not keep two pairs of clowns in the same tank."

Well, yes. You could have said that differently and in a pm lol.[/QUOTE

What's the point? We could beg, plead, cajole, cry, and we would still see the same question again tomorrow. Sometimes I think I want to make a graphic that says "Read the FAQ" every time someone posts a question that is answered, verbatim, in the FAQ. Then I won't even have to type, I can just copy and paste the link.

Jeff, it's like being in a classroom where a kid asks you a question. You answer it. Then the next kid asks the same question. You answer it. You keep doing it 20 times. Finally when another kid asks the SAME question, you write the answer on the chalkboard. Then the next kid asks the same question. You ask, "Did you not hear me answer all the other kids? Can you not read the chalkboard?" Is that being rude?

Regardless, I hold no hostility toward the OP and would gladly write a long detailed answer to another question of his that I can help with. Just don't ask the same question that was answered three threads ago... :)

Don't sweat the small stuff. How people conduct themselves, the way they ask and answer, spelling errors, grammar errors etc are not something to worry about so much. Telling people how to participate? Really? Let's just help each other out here.

I got a question. How about 1 pair of clowns, and 2 other clowns of different species (and not the same with one another) in a 270? I have 4 anemones in there as well. I didn't want to sell/give away my two clowns from the old tank, but if fighting ensues I will be moving them to the sump. Right now the pair is situated on one end of the tank, while the more aggressive clown is on the other side of the tank. The "nice" clown that never bothers anyone is in the middle.

i dont mean to judge or anything, but if the experienced reefers cant handle answering the same question over and over. then dont. there is new reefers popping up everywhere and thats great, not only for RC but for the natural reefs in general. obviously they're going to have the same questions as others. yea they could do a lil reading and stuff but if they dont, you experienced reefers should be there to help, not judge the OP on not reading or whatnot. instead of helping, you make the OP feel stupid and sometimes even cause them to get out of the hobby. Now if the OP posts the same question in different threads, then ok, i totally understand the frustration. but come on guys, if these are new people, like myself, we should be willing to answer their questions with a positive attitude and with the willingness to help them out. if not, then just dont answer the question. lets not forget that we all started with these questions.

Like i said, im new here and ive seen more people getting their butts chewed out for something instead of them being helped out. If i were one of these OP, i wouldnt ask anything on here anymore and go look for ADVICE somewhere else.

Again, if its the same OP asking the same question, then LMK and ill chew him out too. lol

Lets be friends here guys :) Just saying :D

I can understand being frustrated with the same questions being repeatadly asked, but one doesn't have to bother replying to them if one is tired and frustrated with the subject ;)

Yes Bill, you and Jeff are correct about zen and patience :)

However what if the one question being asked over and over again, is answered differently depending on who answers it? In this case, the experienced clown breeders all say "don't do it". But we always seem to get someone to post "hey, it's your money, do it and let us know what happens." We KNOW what will happen :(

At any rate, Peace, Love and Tranquility :) I have the best interests of our reefs and our critters at heart :)
