Well I've finally bit the bullet and started releasing the funds :D
Aquarium stand is ordered from Dayton Aquarium Stands
Just put order in for Tunze 3155 osmolator and Tunze ts24 Stream kit.
I'm getting a quote for 95 gallon acrrylic tank from glasscages to use for sump. Bought all supplys for power panel. going to water jet out the front tomorrow at work, will post some pictures soon.
I'm new with alot of this stuff with posting so you'll have to bear with me for a little bit.
Getting prices on skimmer and calicium reactor hopefully ordered by week end.
still haven't decided whether to use crushed coral, fine sand or run a pleunm, last reef tank i had a pleunm system and it worked good.
read alot on dsb but not sure.
i have to say i've got a ton of good information from all the posts i've
read and i'm diffently will be using or modifing those ideas.
stay tuned weve only just begun.

Sounds like your off to a good start. :) We too will be starting our 210 AGA RR project soon, stand should be built next week hopefully.

Where did you decide to get your tank from? We are going to get ours from Aquatic World in Oconomowoc, just can't find anyone to come close to that price.

What Skimmers are you considering as well as Calcium Reactors?

We are practically neighbors, we'll have to compare notes. :)

DONT SPEND THE MONEY FOR AN ACRYLIC SUMP. YOU CAN MAKE A SUMP OUT OF A RUBBERMAID CONTAINER OR STANDARD ALL GLASS 90 FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE.

well after looking at alot of posts theres really alot of good equipment out there.
I'am going to purchase my skimmer & cr reactor form
Barr aquatc Systems I ordered a CR1200 reactor & Sk1620 skimmer
they look like well built items, and easy too maintain.
After pricing acrylic tank for sump, I'am going to have somebody probable
custom build mine. I work to many hours and its hard to find the time
for me to do many diy projects.
Right now i'm looking for the right container to use for auto topoff,
cause i want too fit in a cabint next to tank that matchs my stand.
Some ware in 30 to50 gallon range.
Next is retrofiting lights into hood. Old lights were 2 x 175 watt mh & 95 watt VHO antics. Was thinking of adding one 250 watt to middle
and 2 x 160 watt vho antics to save a little money for now.
New retrofit 3 x 250 mh x 2 160 watt VHO 1172.00
& 350.00 to add 1 mh & 2 VHO.
Hey Ereefic i can see your house from here!

what type of corals are you planning on keeping with those lights? Do you think 250W will be enough for the depth?

250's will be plenty. I have 250 DE's on my 210, and I keep clams and some SPS on the sandbed w/o any problems.

how much and where did you buy your tank? if you don't mind me asking.also is it acrylic or glass?

Haven't picked it up yet, but we'll be getting it from this place" www.aquaticworld.net They don't ship or anything like that, but there about 45 min. from me.

It's going to be the AGA 210 with megaflows, think the price is $618

I just picked up my 210 yesterday. I should post the link where I posted this very question... Out of all the replies, no one said 250's (DE or SE) would be ok for SPS and clams over a 210... Any other opinions on this? Or something from the original poster since it is his thread?

I'm of no help as we'll be running 175's over our 210, but it's softies and LPS mainly so should be plenty for them. Perhaps some SPS higher up.

I'd go with 250w DE over single ended this deep though. If your focus is strictly SPS and Clams, the 400w would be the way to go IMO.

That is pretty much what the sentiment was from the rest of the board. Thanks.

In my last post the main reason i was going to use 175 x 2 & 250 x1
was i aready have the 175s form a previous reef tank, to just get this thing going i figure iam looking at probably 6000.00 grand with live rock. I figure down the road i can up grade the lights.

Just use the [<!-- -->img] [/<!-- -->img]tags, don't use the [<!-- -->url] tags and it will work fine.

No spaces in there either.

Orderd Retrofit

Well I decided against using my old light, just orderd 3 x250 mh
4 x 96 compact flouresecent. with 2 80 cfm fans I hope this should
be anough. My last tank was 24" deep and every grew allright with the 175 mh.
Any body like the waterjet its a cool machine it cuts glass ceramic and steel up to 6" thick!
