210g Things with Stings tank.

Sorry I missed this. Yes, most fish are fine with the redfins. Their mouths are pretty small. The shrimp are way too large to eat as well. Did you end up getting them?

We just decided on lights. I think we are going with Orphex. I really wanted the Maxspect Mazarra lights, but they are just a little too industrial looking for my taste and the location. I wouldn't think of an easy way to hide them.

Oh wait.... I just looked back and I haven't updated this in a bit! It's cycled and we have 2 lions and a scorp in there so far. We're soon going to look for an antennata to add. We really need lights so I can get some sensible pictures!

Long overdue. Time to start stocking with coral!

I promise you, you'd love a lion tank. There's just something different about them and the way they interact with you.

The back sucks, but I'm hoping to get back to work in December.... I haven't been there since April 2013.

It took me all day to get a cord through a firewall. Oh the cuss words I have invented. I've decided to hardwire the Apex instead of going wireless. I still need to get the network cable in through the shed and I wasn't about to go crawling in the dark last night, with the number of brown widow spiders we have.

No new pictures. We have a few corals and a fish in QT, but the tank itself is just hanging out and waiting for it's inhabitants.

We wanted zero cords to be visible, so we built a ceiling box.

After all of that, I had to do this.

The bright fresh white of the box, did not match the 15 year old "Fry Daddy White" color of the rest of the ceiling. Never again. Never. Never. Painting ceilings is horrible.

Drilled yet more hole in the exterior wall.....

Now it needs to be painted the same color as the house. At least I have the 4" plug we had drilled out previously, to do some color matching. Gotta try to find the positive when slowing demolishing your home. This is hubby on the outside of the house, when I popped through with the hole saw.

Has anyone ever converted a car charging outlet to a bank of "regular" ones? Not looking to do it myself.

won't covering the tank create violent pH and O2 swings? 90 or your air exchange is done at the surface of your display, covering it up will create problems i would think.

i have to say some incredible fish and build though…

where are you and what is your average yearly temperature swing? i know where i am i could never get away with an outdoor shed like that..95-100 through the summer and down to -30 through the winter months…friggin windchill has brought it to like -42

The 55 gallon sump is very open, out in the sump shed. It's provides enough air exchange.

I live towards the the coast in Los Angeles. It doesn't go below 50F very often in the winter and it doesn't go over 80F very often in the summer. Boring, but fantastic for outdoor sumps.
