240G All T5 SPS build

On a slight note of craziness , got tired of vodka dosing trying out the np pellets. Here's a video of the reactor with the fluidized pellets =)
Using a Next reef MR1 XL + tunze recir pump + 2 L of NP Biopellets wish me luck lol

Anthony, I'm interested in your Biopellet observations please post your thoughts as you have them. Also, maybe it's my machine but I can't see anything where your last two videos are supposed to be. All i see is a placeholder in a box with a little, what appears to be a generic picture in the corner.

Tanks Anthony, your tank looks fantastic. Great water movement. Man you really got those Biopellets cookin' in there.

Okay small update here's video of the tank

They seem neutral buoyant, actually does not take that much flow to fluidize them i currently have the flow rate cut back since i have a pretty big pump running for it, I have it feeding my calcium reactor as well. I already see it working tho, getting darker skimmate along with a slight algae bloom on the sand but nothing like when i dosed vodka in the past .

wow wow wow you ever in ny please stop by and do my tank?
what t5 bulbs you running?

Lol , this tank was so much work ... funny enough it was more than my old 480.

T5's i'm running are
2 sets of
2xUVL actinics
4x ATI blue plus
2x KZ fiji's
2x ATI specials ,

going to change it to
5 x ATI blue plus
2x KZ Fiji's
3x ATI specials
going to use the blue plus bulbs for dawn/dusk instead of the actinics

I'm trying to get that little extra light for the bottom of my tank, turns out there was more dropoff on par than i expected. Going to see how much more light that gives me.

For those sump pictures.. ( someday i will clean this up lol )
Yeah this is less than to be desired, i adjusted the build some and never cleaned up the wiring mess ..

You crammed alot into a little space though! This is the big reason I want a closet behind my new tank.

Honestly it's not a small space , my stand is 78Lx 36Wx 43T with no support blocking anything . The size of the equipment just makes it look tight. The sump is 48x26x19 . The fuge is 24x18x24 .

Found this little bugger the other night, thought it was algae in the middle of the coral, looked again and had eyes staring back at me ..

Very nice Anthony especially this one. Does it have a name? BTW I think that hairy crabs are the bad ones.

Yeah i pulled that crab the next day, was a bit of trouble getting him out. Ended up dropping the coral in revive to get it out.
That coral that your asking about was a wild acro i picked up somewhere , it's gotten nicer and nicer since i have had it. Going to take a few frags of it in the next couple months and see how the frags hold and grow out it's one of the nicest tables i have seen, since it is pink and not red.

Wild huh? Looks like you rolled the dice and found a gem, love the color combo. Too bad your in SD or I'd "test" one of those frags for you
