great shots!

Are you feeding roids over there? Is the Atlantic Blue all healed up? What's your water change schedule and how are you supplementing Ca/alk/Mg?

I feed quite a few things, brine(live sometimes), bloodworms, mysis, Angelfish specialty foods(which they all eat), squid, NLS soectrum pellets, green algea, red algea. I buy the red algea from the Asian market- Tangs go crazy for that stuff

I do %20 waterchange bi-weekly using Instant Ocean salt and suplement using B-ionic for calcium & alk. I have a calcium reactor ready to go online soon hopefully

Truthfully I haven't dosed Mag in a little over a yr. Would that effect the "Thickness" of SPS?

water flow will affect "thickness" of SPS.

The newest blend of IO tests out pretty good for Mg. Still- I think it would be interesting to see what your Mg tests out at. (I'm not saying you should change anything!)

Doesn't hurt to check Mag, dont have a test kit for that so on the list it goes for things to get. Now I have plenty of flow in there (or at least I would think) but yet I dont see some of the thicker branches on some specimens?

Flow

3 Vortechs--2 on one side 1 on the other (adding another Vortech soon)
1 Tunze 6100
1 Tunze stream
Struggling with providing some serious flow in the middle of the tank, even with these powerheads. Anything else besides flow effect the thickness of SPS?

inherent growth habit of a species will affect it's "thickness".
I can see how the DD's dimensions present a challange getting great water flow to the middle of the aquarium but I can only wish I had that problem :)

Chris, stuff looks sick!!! Just use caution when transitioning to the reactor. I used to think it was going to be my savior. B-Ionic for a 260? Cha-ching, must be killing you. But, IMO, the right combo of a reactor and either B-Ionic, or 2-Part will get you where you want to be, or at least keep you there.

I can't wait to see this tank in another year, it's already a beast, it's gonna be massive.

Thanks Marc, yea wasn't to bad until I added a huge efflo and a monster green Acro I got from another reefer!:lmao:

You got me thinking about crossing over to the Calcium reactor, was dialing it in an issue?

Nah, not so much, it's just that, at first, I thought it would be set it and forget it. You can't adjust a reactor too quick. It takes a few days of dialing and testing to get it where you want it. A tiny adjustment takes a few hours to be realized completely. The trick is to just set it and let it settle, not tinker too much.

You still have to monitor closely, and IMO, add a supplement like 2 part or Seachem, or B-Ionic for additional trace elements. Acros that huge suck it up fast!!!

Working on the MP60 video. I added 1 on each side and boy what a difference!

Looking great, Chris! How do you like those MP60s? I just hooked mine up and boy, do they move some water! The jury is still out on the noise when 100% on...you can hear it throughout my house! We'll see how it settles in.

Those things are moving some serious water, Reefcrest mode is pretty spectacular! Not to crazy on the noise level of these things when they rev up. I was actually surprise as to how loud they are. I gotta say, I have never seen my fish as happy with the flow, surprising how important flow is not only to coral but to fish also... Those thing have to be amazing on your tank John!

Video coming soon!

Can't wait John! Dont forget invite me over when it's finally rocking. I have to play around a bit with the camera and take the video when the halides are on.
