I am waiting on a return pump now, trying to find one local in the mean time...Anyone?

I have heard mixed opinions using my ballast which fired DE bulbs but am planning on using SE bulbs. I have heard that if it's an electronic ballast I shouldn't have a problem. Anyone have anymore insight on this?

$125.. its just about brand new, i barely used it at all. i originally thought it was a mag 24 and listed it at $100 a week or so ago. but by my mistake it was a mag 36, so, i would like $125 B/O.. im open to offers though too. i could use a skimmer, or lights..

On the ballast question, electronic ballasts can fire pretty much any bulb out there so you should be just fine :)

Thanks, thats what everyone is telling me. Which is great news and one less headache I have to worry about now.

I am waiting on 2 Koralia 4's that I ordered last week to help with flow. Anyone have any opinions on these?

i just got a sure flow 1600 mod for a maxi jet. insane amount of flow 1600gph, or 2100gph, and its a wide flow pattern..alot smaller than a K4. i just think the Koralias look like blimps. personally id try like four MJ1200's with the sureflow mods, and run them with the 1600, or the 2100gph impeller they give you.

and i dont suggest it neither have i done it, but, others have used the maxi sure flows 1600 on wave makers with no problems.

they are only like twenty bucks maybe a couple dollars more. or you can order them cheap online.

I have been thinking about ordering sea swirls for added circulation, however dont know exactly how they function. Do you re-route the return lines to to the sea swirls or a separate return line is created for them?

As far as I know, they are the return. I spose you could split the line. I was thinking about them, but with a canopy, they wouldn't fit neatly anywhere and I didn't want to hinder my overall turnover.

If I decided to split the line, I would definatly need a decent strong return pump to push all the re-directed water with my split lines.

Ex. I have 2 return lines that are both split coming out of the overflow, and with my planned sea swirl's (1 on each side) each return line will be split 3 times. Hopefully thats not over doing it is it?

(Hopefully that explanation is not to confusing)lol

The one I am looking at can handle 850GPH, I think I will be okay if decide to get a return pump that can turnover 1800GPH at least... Hopefully it isn't to much

Well, finally added the livestock to the tank. Things are still a bit cloudy. I have the sump ready to go with all the equipment minus the return pump and lights. (coming very soon!) Then hopefully water quality should clear up once that happens...

Sorry for the bad pics, kind tired and need to learn how to work with my camera. Have only the actinics on
