260 Gallon Project

Anyone have any opinions on these?

I have three in my 180 and love them. They have a very calm stream while adding a tremendous amount of flow to the tank. You can practically aim them dirrectly at a coral 6 inches away and the coral won't flinch....just a bit more flow.

Does this mean I will be getting my lasagna soon? By the way as a future referance for anyone building a stand for a massive aquarium like this, do not build it to tall.

Chris, everything looks great! It's nice to see life in the tank! I have that OM-4way available if you're interested. Cheers!

Thanks, I definatly have some interest in the 4way. Still kind of undecided on what to use for circulation.

Here are some pics of the tank finally fully functional. I plumbed the return lines to a mag 36 externally, but was to loud so I rerouted the lines a bit to submerse is under water. This pump will later serve as a back up. I have ordered a Reeflo Dart pump to serve as the main pump and is expected to arrive next week.

Plumbing is no where near done, Skimmer hasn't broken in yet and seems to be releasing some micro bubbles into the sump which then gets pushed up to the tank explaining the "cloudiness look".

Still have so much more to go!

Okay, well I have encountered a few problems here.

First I am getting quite a bit of microbubbles into the main tank. I dont have any baffles in my sump and it could be the skimmer

Second, I dont think I am getting the water pressure I should from the mag 36. Just remembered that I didn't glue my return lines to the bulkhead. Dont know if I have water pressure escaping from there or I just have my return lines split to many times. (1 split for each return line)

Anyone have any thoughts suggestions?

BTW: 3/4" PVC for return lines

Well everything is going well, kind of slow but good. Here are some recent pics of the tank..

Well haven't updated in a while. Kind of forgot about this thread!

After the initial set-up I added a Mimic Tang and Scopas without QT'ing them. My mistake! Battled an ICH outbreak and unfortunatly lost my Black clowns, Mimic and Dottyback. I managed to get the ICH under control with the help of a friends on here and haven't added a single fish or coal since. However I have been changing a few things such as the rockwork. Pictures should be posted soon of the new rockwork.

I have also been slowly collecting some new equipment.

Also picked up this ASM G3 that will replace my bakpak in the 92corner for better filtration

She managed to fit nice into the small sump!

QT/Frag tank that will be in the new fish room, finally got finished with the stand. I prefer the taller stands

The new rock stack, went for minimal rock. Might add some more rock to fill in a bit more, tried going for the pillar look

I have my last luminarc pendant to put up and then will purchase all new bulbs and really give it more of a crisp look. I also have yet to hook up the Geo Calcium reactor

I like the rock work, looks pretty sweet - plenty of places for fish to swim in and out of.... I plan on going with minimal rock too. Nice job!!

How's this pump working out? I noticed you have a 1" hole in the sump for the Dart's imput with a couple 90 degree turns. Are you getting micro bubbles or is the pump making grinding noises?
