stand looks great, its always hard with a high ceiling but it looks very good. Good move on the lighter stain, black would have definitely darkened your room significantly. The modern look is well pulled off.

Tank is looking great, looking forward to a video of the water flow once you have it up and running. Can't wait for your aquascaping (my favorite part).

Hell of a RO unit...

Nice stand i very modern.

BRAVO

Thanks GMSGuy - since I can't go for a rimless tank, the least I can do is make the stand modern....:D

Your tank looking good by the way....

Wow I wonder how many GPD that filter is if it can fill up a ~300 gallon tank really easy

Don't know as the instructions are all in Chinese...but this thing is a beast. Took only 8 hours to fill my tank... :p

Originally wanted to do a rimless so I don't have to cover all the way to the top but as I can't get those 3/4" low iron glass, here, have to made do with a eurobracing and made the canopy all the way...stand and canopy is same height to look good... :D

Once everything is hook up, will do a video on water movement. Yeah the RO unit is a beast.....

OK, continue from yesterday's post...

Have to get some power food for the guys before starting off on aquascaping….

AQUASCAPING

Can’t find black starboard here (maybe it’s available but don’t think I can ever explain nor am I motivated to try with my limited Chinese) so I use 3 pieces of black plastic sheet instead as a base.

I decided to revised my initial mock set-up and reduce the amount of rocks in the tank and go with the ‘less is more’ look :lol2:

I just love the amount of open space it creates for my SPS to grow and my fishes to swim :inlove:

I’m quite please with the overall aquascaping mock-up and hopefully my SPS and fishes will too…

Once that’s done I glued some small pieces of rocks at the based of the PVC stand so it’s not visible… :artist:

Next sand in place…..

I used about 2” of sand bed….

Follow by my 1000L RO water follow by about 1.5 bucket of 25kg TM Pro…..

This industrial RO unit takes only 8 hours to fill up my tank…not bad huh?? Of course the pre-mix 100-gallon SW and my own RO unit helps to speed up the process too !!

I already pre-mix my salt with RO water with a higher salinity in my Rubbermaid containers this morning so that I can use it to mix with the tank’s RO water.

Don’t mind the picture as the water is a little cloudy at this time but should clear up in a couple of hours…. :D

Ahhhaah…. almost forgot, I added about 100 pounds of fully cured LR and a few cups of LS from my current system to help with the seeding and get the cycle started.

Went to the LFS in the afternoon to handpick those pieces to blend into my aquascape…. I was very fortunate that the LFS so happen to have 5 tanks of ready-cured LR waiting for me to cherry pick..

In place is my DYI filter box for my filter wool and filter socks and also my frag tank….. :)

FilterBoxinPlace01.jpg

FilterBoxinPlace02.jpg

One of my baffles after the filter wool section for my sump was too high, causing micro bubbles in my Zeovit reactor section so I decided to drill 2 x 40mm holes and hook on two 90 degree to lower the water level.

Also decided to make the return from my skimmer to a filter socks. Got those acyclic filter sock holder on-line locally

Thanks for the compliment...I also think the new aquascape looks better compare to the old version. The tank scaper is one of the local reefers here, who came over to help... :p

Multi-Purpose Tank aka MPT

Multi-Purpose Tank aka MPT

Not that I need these now but just set it up anyway to show the complete set-up and also you will notice I have additional stands made using coupling so that I can easily raise the height of each tray in accordance to my use.

Frag tank with frag trays:

All new frags and fishes will be 1st place in this MPT until I’m confident they are doing fine before moving into the main tank….sort of an acclimation tank.
