I have a clownfish that has white stuff on its back. Its like a white blotch of furr almost.. I had one die 1 1/2 weeks ago with this I assumed it was just limited to the one. I got home tonight and I see another has it.. Help!
I just recently had the same problem and unfortunately my 2 percs and my tomato clown died. I dont mean to sound like a voice of doom, but 1 thing that happened with mine was they started to breathe heavily and the white fuzz will actually start pulling off of them. My tomato clown developed the fuzz but then 2 days later developed ick. I treated him for ick and he still died. Your definitely in for a battle to keep them. Best of luck.
It could also be a bacterial infection as well. I would move the fish to a quarantine tank where I would administer an antibiotic (Furan-2 is one of my favorites) while also performing the formalin baths acording to the directions on the link above.
Well I went to my lfs and the guy there seemed to think it was a fungal problem. (the clown died) It does actually look like one of the example pictures on the bottle of Pimafix he said to use. It says it treats bacterial infections as well. I don't have a quarantine tank.. I'm thinking of setting one up. What are common things to add to the quarantine tank? I have copper for ick should I treat all new fish with copper and Pimafix?
