300 Gallon Miracles Aquarium

Tank Repair.
So the tank is now repaired. I have 4 days to wait before I can start her up again. The Silicone has to cure. We have opted to repair the overflow instead of replacing it for two main reasons. One lack of access to the back of the overflow box and number two was the fact that the original overflow box is still keeping the back of the tank from bowing out while it is in place. If we had removed it I would have had to removed more water from the DT. Which would have been difficult. So they added 1"x1/2" glass strips on the inside of the overflow box at every joint. We are confident that this repair is the best solution and a permanent one.

In the meantime this is what my tank looks like now. Lighting and the Chiller and some plumbing removed to gain access to the back of the tank.

Wow. Its amazing that almost every negative end of this hobby has come to kick you in the butt, and your still dedicated. Amazing!

Hi Maik,
Great thread and I hope everything works out for you! I just got my tank yesterday which is very similar to yours...72x36x28 and an external overflow with 3 drains. I was wondering if you have any pictures of how you ran the plumbing from your overflow box to your filter? I am trying to figure out a way that will put the least amount of pressure on the box since my filter will not be directly under the tank. It will be off to the left side of the tank.

Thanks in advance!

No pictures but I just tie wraped the pipes on the back of the stand with 10" tie wraps.

How's the repair coming along?

It's done, I had posted earlier here.

The tank is filled up again and it looks like I may have lost one coral. Small price to pay.

Wow, OceansMotions is closed. I was just looking for spare parts and saw this at http://www.oceansmotions.com

"OceansMotions has recently been impacted by a number of issues, a
health issue has laid me up and I am still recovering.
Manufacturing has slowed to a point where the machine shop had to be closed."

Not good!

Hmm, I hope if he doesn't want to make the product any more he will sell the patent to someone who will. To me it leaves a gaping hole in the market, as it was head and shoulders above the closest competitor.

Any update on this thread? How is the tank holding up. I am researching my custom build and want to know whether Miracles is a way to go.

The Tank is great, no problems after they came and fixed it for free at my convenience. I would order another tank from them for sure. Top quality and service.
