Final decision made.

Final decision made.

For emergency back up I have finally decided on a portable generator. I was looking at a standby unit but at 3 times the cost it just wasn't worth it to me.

We have a power outage once every 3 years that would last longer then 3 hours, most times it's more like ½ hour to an hour. But if it does hit I will be covered.

It's been a while since I checked in on the thread. Good work with the goldrim, I'm glad things are progressing well for you. The tank is looking superb. Could you give a feeding schedule for you fish please? type of food/how many times a day/ what time of day you're feeding.

The goldrim looks much better now.

I feed frozen food only, I try 2x day. Just before 7 am and after 6 pm. But many times it turns into once per day, after 6pm.

I give 4-6 cubes with garlic per day after it sits out for the day.
The Apex stops the skimmer for 5 minutes the return pump for 3 minutes and the OM+CLpump for 1 minute.
2-3 time per week I feed green+red sea veggies too.

I would say 3 1/2" now. Take a look for yourself http://maiksreef.com. Nori every day? That could add up! Just kidding, yes in a perfect world I would and I do try. Reality is, it just never works out perfectly.

Transferswitch installed

Transferswitch installed

Well I got my transfer switch installed for my generator for a simple and quick hookup to the house when the power goes out.
Tested everything and works great. Except now after switching the tank power on and off and from the grid to generator power, my Apex display is now DEAD. Nice! :angryfire:
Ordered a new one last night and will send this one in for warranty repair. Nothing is ever perfect, nothing.

Jbanks gave me this advise with ICH in the past and it worked for me.
I know this sounds like snake oil but I have seen it work!.... Get some fresh ginger root fom the grocery store and ground it up in some water in a blender and soak the nori and other food in it before giving it to the Tang. There is a good chance that the parsites will fall off. Obviously, these parasites have always been in the tank because you haven't added anything, however, your PBT was strong enough to fight them off until the tank was stressed by the anemone spawning. You have to get him back to that point again and this may help.. Keep him eating!"

No sign of ICH for a couple of month now. Tank is doing very well, keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for your suggestions and support.

I also hooked up my ATO finally!

2 dedicated 15amp lines from the fuse panel, one for the heater/Chiller the other for the rest.
I'm glad it's done! :smokin:
