I'll be happy if he stays, but experience says he is just on his way to the worst spot in the tank, LOL.
 
More pics. The shifting continues... And I made my own lid by grinding down a piece of cheap glass until it had the curve I wanted. Now does anyone know how to polish the edge of a piece of glass? That thing is looking pretty rough.

Hmm. I like the sound of lazy. But I don't think they make moulding in clear, and I don't want the lid to draw any more attention than it does now. If I find clear moulding I will definitely be trying that first though. Thanks for the suggestions! :thumbsup:
 
You could also take wood mouldings and dado a grove in it for the glass to set in and stain it to match the desk and the glass lid would disappear behind the nice trim.

Yea I am definitely gonna fail at that wood trim project. But thanks for the link. If I can curve that stuff I'm set.
 
A real low temp setting in the oven will heat it enough to bend. Just don't let it boil off the surface or flammable fumes can be released or that's what I've read anyway.

There is automotive door edge molding u can get from any auto parts store. Just found this thread love the picotope.

Hey man, IDK how I missed this post, but thanks for the suggestion, and the compliment! I may give that a try, maybe this weekend or something.
 
I haven't touched this thread in forever! But seeing Damon.Webb22 start a Pico, I got sentimental and decided to revive both the tank and this thread. To be fair, I have seriously neglected this tank, but having an awesomely balanced ecosystem kept it on autopilot this whole time.

So let's start with where I am today. The tank is a mess, but the inhabitants are actually quite happy, in fact my RBTA just split last week! All told, I think this tank is sporting 15+ anemones, as well as a neon green nepthea. There are also some palythoas and zoanthids, but I'm gonna have to dig them out first.

I did a water change and need to clean the glass, plus my algae and cotton candy are out of control... But what do you guys think? Not too far from good, right?
 
I want to see the after pics of when you siphon off all that algae. It looks happy and healthy.
