I have used this set up in the past for many years. I don't think I could have made the montis look any better. The green caps looked outrageous. Down side, the XM 20K shift color pretty quick, but they are not the priciest lamp to really be worried about it.

Generally the higher the Kalvin the quicker the lamp will shift color. The XM 20Ks on that PFO I would say lasted me 8 months tops. My Radium 20k on my Galaxy has kept me happy for the last 11 months. Granted there is a big price difference between the two, I think they are both worth their value.
I have 400 watt Radiums on Galaxy ballasts and honestly can't tell the difference between the Galaxy and PFO. It's very crisp white with blue tint. For lack of a better term, SPS seem to take on a rich, metallic coloration that to me is unparalleled by another bulb/ballast combination. While both Galaxy and the PFO ballasts overdrive 400 watt bulbs, I burned through the XM 20K's 3 months earlier than the Radiums as indicated on a friend's par meter....so the cost difference is worth it IMO.
I just switched to the 400 watt 20k xm just after Christmas and I like them. I wanted to go with the radiums but I'm running the m59 ballest. I'm also running to t5 420nm bulbs for sunrise/sunset. I beleive devdak is running the same ballest with the radiums a d his tank looks pretty sweet. I love the way my colors are poping. Could be the light combo and stop runnig the gfo. I wish I was computer savy to post some pics of my tank.
