600 gallon Display/ 900 gallon system

My Mighty Magnets arrived this week so I can get to cleaning this weekend. A few weeks of neglect has caught up with me. I also got all four tunze 6101 streams installed in the tank, the flow seems to be pretty impressive so far. Hopefully it will be enough to keep all the corals happy! Now I just need to get my AC3 working.....I have been dragging my feet on learning the programming.....

Bravo my friend... Bravo. Your setup is just SICK.
My favorite by far is the eels. Ive always wanted a pair of dwarfs.

Also congrats on:
a) not filling your tank with 10,000lb of rock....
and
b) not having 1,000 1/4inch frags of super duper LE SPS

Have you thought about running your frag tank lights on an opposite light cycle of the tank?

Thanks. If I could afford super duper LE 1/4" frags I would probably have them I hate to say. :) But I like my softies and will always have them. They give the tank a real Natural look IMO.

Looking at your thread I see several things where I thought - dang I wish I had done that on mine-. Very nicely done! Great job.

how happy are you with your lights regarding coverage and intensity? have you taken any par readings in the tank?

I am happy with them so far. They seem to fill up the 48" depth pretty well. Yes I have taken readings. I am getting about 150 on the bottom in the direct center of the tank. The Par goes down to about 50 in the front/back sand areas of the tank.

Thanks. Im digging your setup as well!!!

Been quite awhile since my last post.... figured I would post some pics of how the tank is progressing...I have been extremely busy this year, which has not given me alot of time to keep up with my thread.

Alot has happened this year with the tank.. It has gone thru most if not all phases of algae growth, and I still have a bit of hair algae in places. All equipment has been running flawlessly so far. My skimmer has not been overly impressive with the amount of skimmate it produces..not sure if its because the water volume of the tank, or if I just dont have alot to skim. It does keep a very stable head and does not overflow, so Im happy about that..

I have lost many fish due to ich at one point, and corals due to salinity issues that resulted when my topoff was running for two days straight into the tank...oops!!! But overall I have been pleased with the results, and enjoy the tank 80% of the time.

Ohh and Green Pocillapora is running rampant in my tank....as you can see in the pics. That stuff is a bigger nuisance then GSP...I warn everyone not to put that stuff in your tank.

This tank is by far the most beautiful I have ever seen and a true dream of mine! Not only a beautiful display tank with gorgeous fish (orange shoulder and naso are stunning) but also a very well executed fish room with everything accounted for. I will definately be using this as a benchmark for my dream set up if finances allow. Truelly an amazing build and something to be very proud of. The softies look very natural and fantastic under your lighting!

James that naso is such a brute. (in the gentle giant kinda way). How's that tusk going for ya? Would love an in depth about that guy
