600 Gallon Upgrade Build

Thank you sir. And that means a lot for me to hear that coming from you. I have read your TOTM over and over and over again.

Thanks you're very kind.

I will definitely be going with sand. My goal is no more than 1 1/2", 2" at the most.
I agree 100% with the shallow sandbed idea. I have mine just deep enough in a few areas for the wrasses to burrow in the sand at night.

I just finished reading your build thread and it is going to be an amazing setup!!! You have definitely had your ups and downs but you keep moving right alone... You are a true reefer my friend! Cant wait to see the end result.

Thanks frish. As you know in this hobby when there's ups, there must be downs. It's all about going slow and letting it grow.

Well I have the computer moved and now I have this problem.

The cable company said that they don't remove wires. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You could just cut out that drywall, cap off the coaxial, and leave them in place. If they are just coaxial cable for TVs/Internet not really something that is dangerous, just will have a little drywall patching.

Hadn't checked on the thread in awhile. I am glad that you finaly got the flooring in and area making progress. Can't wait to see over a year of planning come to fruition. You have displayed the patience of a saint thoughout this entire build. No reason to rush to the finish line now. Now that my tank if finally up and running, I am bored out of my mind. For the last four months every free moment was dedicated to working on the tank. Now I have nothing to do but stare at the tank. I know that is what everyone says they want, but I actually prefer the process to the end result.

I'm the SAME way. I keep on having people ask if I'm ready to be done but I enjoy the build and doing things right the first time. My wife might be ready for me to be done but I'm not!

Boredom can be a splendid thing. Hold the husbandry, put down the PVC, delay the next pump purchase, forget the Apex programs! Purchase the new test kits! Dive into REEF CHEMISTRY! Calcium, magnesium, carbonate, nitrates, phosphates oh my! Hey it is better than vacuuming the gravel!

Now that's solid advice!

Pres. D., you don't know how tired I am of people asking me when I am going to set the tank up. Almost to the point where I just want to say I'm not going to now.

I just visualized graavel in the tank and trying to vacuum it almost made me lose the food in my stomach. On a brighter note you couldn't be far from the truth.

I put a couple coats of primer on the floor today. I used this product from the HD.

Here is what the color turned out. Hope the iPhone captured this well.

Time and money is working my nerves right now. Well money really isn't the issue but I got to get this tank setup ASAMP.

Why, I'm glad you asked. I was looking at my 225 after adding an algae blennie, one spot foxface, and unicorn. Then I see this.

I can't get this tank setup soon enough. And I don't want to tear down the 225 to catch an engineer gobie(actually there are two of them in there and this isn't the first time this has happened. I am at a quandary.

Advice please.
