I might. Let me check.

EDIT: Sorry, I do not have that part.

Thanks for checking... I am going to post a few threads to try to get people who have that piece to switch with me... They are the same thing (part # and all) just the black one sticks out a little more then the brown :(

You might post it in the For Sale forum and the Tunze forum. Surely someone will switch with you.

If anyone can help please check out this thread...

I just wanted to say that RC is awesome... I have gotten a few PMââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s already about trading my black clips out with the brown ones I need... :) I just wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to look at my thread(s) and to those who were able to help me out ;)

OH MY GOD you had a team moving that thing.. it is HUGE..... cant wait to see the progress.....

Tank%20on%20stand.JPG

Finally!!!!!!

:D I am glad to see that you have gotten started. Now why didn't your wife hop up in the tank LOL

Shaun if you have one 2" bulkhead in the overflow, are you planning on using 2" durso pipe or something alse?

Also you used to post in this post few times a day. Are you trying to get this tank done in one week?:)

I will be using the 2" durso pictured below...

Yea, at that time I didn't have much to do (other then post), but now I have been working a good amount and my back has been hurting a little more then usual... I haven't gotten much done since the tank has been on the stand :( Tomorrow I am hoping to get a few things knocked out and alot more completed next week...

Shawn, if you are using durso with 2" bulkhead shuldn't the pipe be bigger then the pipe?

That rule applies to small bulkheads. With 2" your good.

Maybe you all can help me... I was looking at my "planned" aquascaping and I got to thinking that it might not work out as I had originally planned... When looking at the pic below I don't think the 96x48 area will be big enough for this kinda of aquascaping... I am thinking if I do setup the rock work as pictured below it will give me tall and skinny piles which will not look right, and when the larger fish get full grown (tangs and what now) it will throw everything out of proportion... What do you all think ?? I want to do something different and have multiply "islands" and ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œvalleysââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ and have a different view from each of the three sides of the tank...

I think the avg person looking at the tank will want to plop down in the front center to look at it so I need to make the front look good and then have something different and interesting on both sides (if that makes since)...

I love how Bigred aquascaped his 380gal... But I can't do this as it would defeat the purpose I had in mind for the tank being 3 sides viewable...

Also like how cward did his 240gal tank...

I don`t see anything wrong with your skematic on aquascaping, why do you think that it won`t work?
Looks very interesting to me, I`m sure that it could be arranged where you don`t wind up with just clumps and columns.

Well I have not placed the rocks in the tank yet but like I said going over it in my head it seems like I would end up with narrow rock work that would not look right in comparison with the fish... Looks good on paper but not sure about it in the tank... I want to have a good amount of "swimming" room and also be able to see across most of the tank to the other side from each 48" side... I wanted to have some of the rock work be as high as 24" or so and I thinking with 24" high rock work it would look "narrow"... I just wanted to see what other had to say... I guess to know for sure I might just have to setup the rock in the tank to see... I just need to find time to get up to Lima, OH to visit usplastic to pick up some High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Sheeting...

One thing you can do is build a simple mock-up to see how it will look. That would also help with targeting your flow and building any support needed for the rock.

You could use cardboard, styro blocks, milk crates/cartons or whatever. That way you can really get a 3 dimensional view and save a lot of time when you put the rock into the tank. Even stacks of books would work.

I tend to agree that your diagram looks like it might not fit well. Most of the large tanks I have seen have kept the rock structure fairly simple to take advantage of the tank size and create a "slice" of reef. That's why bigred and oregonreef look so damn good. The structure is simple yet gives the viewer the idea of something new around a corner. It's a lot like land-scaping in that creatinig semi-hidden areas brings a sense of adventure to the experience. You never know what's going to pop out around the corner!

Well tomorrow morning after I get off work I am headed to Lima, Oh to get pick up a few things from usplastic... One of the main things being the HDPE sheeting I need... Hopefully things will move along a little faster starting Mon / Tues...

Well I have been reading, and reading, and doing some more reading, and alot of thinking... I was doing to do a ref with a DSB in some removable trays so that if / when I needed to I could swap it out with ease... Since I am going a faux SB (BB) in the display I have read that having a remote DSB would defeat the purpose of the BB approach... My main reason for the ref was to have more water volume and a place for PODS to grow and multiply (and grow macro algae for food)... I am now thinking about having the ref be BB as well and have LR for the extra filtration... I have read that BB tanks have had problems with growing or even keeping the algae alive due to the skimmer pulling everything out of the water... I will try to grow macro algae but if unsuccessful then I will just remove the light and have a dark ref with LR...

I was thinking about it and I would like to have a dedicated link from the ref that feeds the display... I don't need mega flow or anything... I am looking for ideas...

I want something that is quiet.
I am not able to gravity feed as the ref will be lower then the tank.

Ideas ??
