I am second on his list for "hardest" moves :)

But you're number 1 for the longest build thread on RC before actually having the tank in place :D

Congrats on getting it in finally...now let's get moving already.

OUCH!!!!! :)

Actually, I have heard a story of a guy here in Iowa getting a glass 360 gallon that had an issue after being delivered. He obviously optioned to repair on site rather than ship back.

Let me add my congrats on finally getting the tank on the stand. :congrats1: It may have been a long road with many twists and turns, but hey, doesn`t it now feel all worth the while?

Tanks looks very nice on the stand I must say.

Sure sounds like a 1st class bunch of movers.
Can`t wait to see the 1st fish swimming about.

:beachbum:

Hmm, The way I was laying it out in my head was the 2" drain would come out of the wall 90 to the left horizontally at a slight angle downward to the ref which would sit higher then the sump... The fittings would be as follows from the BH :

Sched 80 BH
90 to the left
Hitting a T facing up that would have two 90s on it to drain into the ref "emergency drain"
Hitting another T facing down for the feed to the skimmer
Hitting a True Union Ball Valve
Then into the Ref

If I am coming out of the BH and going at a slight angle downward and I have the "emergency drain" before the skimmer feed then the "emergency drain" would be slightly higher... Does that make since ?? I will try to get a pic posted to here soon...

Sounds like your plan should work. A picture of what you plan to do would be best though to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly.

I am hoping there are no issues with the tank... In seeing the care that the movers took in moving the tank, I feel that there shouldn't be any...

It was a little longer and a few more twists then I normally like, but I am very glad that is it done... I can't wait to get this project moving now and get the tank up and running :p

As for the movers, I will be going with them on any move I would happen to have in the future... They did an awesome job...

It will be a little bit before the first fishy is swimming, I hope not to long, but again I don't want to rush this as I want it to be as near perfect as I can get it...

Last night I took a few pics of the sched 40 BH that Will sent with the tank and the sched 80 that I picked up at Savko... Which one would you like on your tank :o

The problem I have is the sched 80 will not fit as the hole is not big enough :( I don't know if I should try to make is a little bigger with my dremel to fit the sched 80 or just use the sched 40 that came with the tank... I hate to touch the tank with my dremel but I mean look at the diff in the two BH's...

I did a test fit with two Tunzes last night as well... You can see the Magnets and Tunzes through the tinted glass because of the flash on the camera... I will be placing some black acrylic over the top of the overflow and Tunze area to keep lighting from getting down in there to keep algae growth down and so that area stays as dark as possible to keep everything "hidden"

The Tunze facing to the front is perfect but the one facing out the side is sticking out a little more then I would like... I am not sure why as the dimensions are the same side to side as they are front to back in the Tunze boxes, I need to take them out and look at them a little close to see if I can find something... I am thinking it may be the little piece that connects the Tunze to the magnet...

Shawn - that box is awesome. I didn't know you were doing something like that. I always thought to myself.... self, why don't peple build little boxes to hide powerheads in?

Anyhow - do you have a zoom'ed out picture of the box? Did the aquarium builder install that for you? Is that the same box as your overflow?

Thanks!
Ron

I wanted to hide the Tunzes and with some help from a fellow club member (Mantis) he gave me some info about his setup that I took to the drawing board and this is what I came up with... Will at AO built this to the drawing that I had sent him and did a perfect job...

I will have 6 Tunzes total, one facing out the side and two facing the front on each side of the overflow... The Tunzes boxes are divided off from the overflow as the overflow is just that, the water flows into it via the egg create at the top... The Tunze boxes are fed via the holes you see at the bottom of them...

Right now I am at work and the best pic I have is one I first took when the tank was sitting on the dock at the movers... I will try to get a better shot up in the next day or so...
