67g Rimless Miracles Build

Here you guys go...
He's a lazy mofo.

The majority of these corals are new as of December, the frags come from Battle Corals while the two new colonies (suharsoni & gomezi) are maricultured pieces from the LFS.

Enjoy.

Thank you for posting all those pics spenser7. Any idea what he feeds his fishes and SPS corals? His corals are looking VERY nice! :)

Going to checkout your tank thread too. Thanks! :D

No idea what he feeds. My guess is that he is being careful simply because his fish alone require so much food at the moment (He has ~17 fish), let alone trying to feed coral. Overall it's a high nutrient system, hopefully it's feeding itself.

Word on the street is that is he looking into Ova.

He may go to T5's as well. :eek1:

Well 17 fish is close, but I counted 22 fish. :) Here's the list:

5x Orange Lined Cardinals
1x Aeurus Cardinal
7x Blue eye Cardinals
1x Royal Pencil Wrasse
1x Adornatus Wrasse
1x Tailspot Blenny
1x Randall's Goby
1x Ocellaris
1x Green Chromis
3x Blue Gudgeon Goby

I feed 2, sometimes 3 cubes of Hikari Mysis Shrimp everyday. Lots of food yes, high nutrient, nope. :)

The corals get Fauna marin foods:

MinS - 1ml daily
Color Elements - 5ml Weekly
Zoa food - Half a treaspoon, weekly
Reef Vitality - Half capsule, every 4 days.

Better pictures will be up soon.

You have a high nutrient system, that is undeniable.

It doesn't have to be miracle mud and cyano to be a HNS (the Red Sea used to be HNS, but has changed a bit).

Don't see it as so negative.

Watch your back dawg... :uzi: :)

Hey Sahin, the Mitras is doing great. However, my best results came from T5 back when I had my 75 gal.

It's a thought for now, but I don't know if I can go back to changing bulbs, led has spoiled me.

It's a thought for now, but I don't know if I can go back to changing bulbs, led has spoiled me.

I almost pulled the trigger on a Mitras, but decided to stick to T5 in the end. Like you I also like LED's. Hence it only made sense to go T5/LED. I am loving the results from my ATI T5/LED Powermodule. To be honest, since I run LED's on the Powermodule, I dont need to run the T5's as long hours...hence I think replacing the tubes once a year isnt too bad. End of the day the colours from my SPS is more important to me than the tube replacement cost.

Maybe try adjusting the spectrum on your Mitras? Try and copy the Radium 20K spectrum:
Radium_zps3e6d40cb.png

Run the "Radium 20K" spectrum for around 7-8 hours at high intensity and have an hour or two ramp up and down either side of that with a really blue loook.

Keep the PO4 below 0.03ppm, feed the tank lots of quality foods, do 10% weekly water changes and see if colours get better.

Anyway, dont mind my ramblings. You are getting very good results anyway.

You fools! Vinny has kept you in the dark for months now!

Wait till you see what the tank looks like now...

Hey don't mind Spencer 7, he's been wanting updates for a while now! Lol

This tank is an official omen for fish, I am down to 5 fish and I'll probably be keeping it at that number. Ich wiped out the majority :(

Corals on the other hand are doing very well, here's an uodated FTS:

I should also point out that I have been running my ATI Hybrid since February and do not regret this purchase at all. It is easily the best fixture I've used!

I'm currently running this T5 combo:

ATI Blue Plus
PC Pigment INT
ATI Coral Plus
ATI Blue Plus

My Nikon was left behind at work so here are some cell phone pictures:

Hey Sahin, I didn't think anyone was looking for updates! :)

Well, the tank has been doing well since the last update. My Acros have been growing like crazy under the ATI Hybrid, I've been having to frag quite often. The hybrid will be turning one year old in February. I still say that buying this light was the absolute best purchase I've ever made for my tank!

About two months ago, I changed my salt brand from Reef Crystals to Tropic Marin Sea salt because I began to see one of my rocks look fuzzy, almost like diatom patches, all the Acros were fine. I was open to trying any new brand and was given a sample of Tropic Marin salt. In the end, I liked how clean it mixed and bought a bucket. After three weeks of using this new salt, I noticed several new growth tips on my Green Slimer which is ironically the slowest grower in my tank. Within the following week, my Packman acro went through a major growth spurt. Despite the super low Alkalinity this salt tests at, I'm gonna keep using it because my Acros really seem to like it.

For additives, I've stopped using Color Elements because I wanted to see if my acros would lose the colors they gained when Color Elements was first added, no change was noted. I also stopped dosing TLF Acropower and FM Reef Vitality. So as it stands now, I am dosing this:

Calcium
Alkalinity
Magnesium
FM Ultra Bak
FM Ultra MinS

I'm interested in trying out Red Sea's NO3PO4x, has anyone with mainly acros used this product? I'm not looking to get pastel-colored acros, just better range of colors on acros.

I'm tempted to rescape the tank and give it a new look...maybe I just need a bigger tank!

Here are some pictures I took with my phone, I'll get some better photos up in a few days :)

WOW!!! Loving the colours on your acros! Thanks for the update! The FTS looks great!

Whats you current tube combo?

Thanks for the complement Sahin.

I'm running 2x ATI Blue Plus, 1x ATI Coral Plus, and 1x Pacific Sun Pigment INT+.

I'll be due for a bulb change next month, that's when I plan on mixing different brand bulbs. Possibly KZ Super Blue, PS Blue EX, ATI Coral Plus, and Pigment INT+.
