Got a problem...

My aquascape epoxy doesn't seem to be drying. The first time I used it, it was just fine.

This new brand (coraline algae looking color) was the one in stock so I got it. It hasn't hardened yet though and it's been more than 24 hours.. which seems way to long. Do you think I didn't knead it long enough in my fingers first??

It's for the sump...

Well I"m planning to go to the Oakville Reef Gallery and see what there store is like. I called and they said they carry Indo Live Rock as it is porous and lighter than Fiji.

Is this rock just as good as Fiji?

don't waste your time bloated egos and bloated prices there

"Where's the Reef" on Dundas ST has opened a gigantic new store on Dundas St down the rd from their old store

Is that the two part putty---if so you need to heat each part in the microwave for 10 sec and then knead it together.

It still sucks though---I have had every piece I have used of that stuff fail
I prefer the crazy glue gel

Really? Hmm it seemed that everyone recommended it as the "place". I'll do a search on that one Capn'. What about Big Als in Oakville? I know you mentioned they weren't the cleanest. I think they opening up one in St. Catharines too.

I assume you live somewhere between Oakville/Toronto area. I suspect the rock there is similar to what we get here in Ottawa, given there are only so many wholesalers to Canada.

I just put 200lbs of Indo in my tanks. i am very pleased with it. The stuff I got has a few different coraline colors and is quite porous. I don't think you will go wrong using Indo.

I have used fiji in the past and I like the Indo better. I have been told that the fiji we are getting now is not nearly as good as it used to be. My lfs stopped bringing it in and went to Indo instead.

Figi rock has been on sale all week at Big Al's for 4.88 a pound

Is that the one in Oakville? Hopefully it's on next week so I can pick some up when the sump is done.

If you want the best then Canadian Fishbreeders In Scarborough is the place to visit. The fish are in excellent condition and reasonably priced. All coral is 40 dollars.

I got the butterfly there--35 dollars

Hmm I can't seem to find it on Google Maps and it's showing past Toronto.

Any info on

"Big Als
557 Kerr Street
Oakville, ON L6K 3C9, Canada

(905) 339-3474"

Thanks for all the help Capn' and gang. I have more epoxy coming on Monday anyways from an order mishap so I will have to add more the RIGHT way over top of what I have. I also have 50 pounds of dry fiji rock coming so I will use that as base.... along with 15 pounds of rubble I will epoxy together into interesting shapes.

Excellent.. didn't see that post before I wrote mine. I also came across a local one in Guelph at reasonable prices I thought? I think it's privately owned.

I know the place---my reef buddy has been there---he wasn't as impressed as he was with Candian Fish Breeders

He wasn't as impressed with BA in Oakville or the place in Guelph? (Fragalot.ca)

I drilled a hole for my tubing for top off (gravity fed) through a rubbermaid bin... but the silicone didn't stick to it very well... any ideas on what would work?

Hmmm I'm not sure if a bulkhead would fit. The hole is only big enough to fit 1/4" RO/DI tubing into. I was planning on sticking it through and sealing it in place... that part is connected to my auto top off which is a Level-Loc so I wouldn't need the ball valve.

I can't seem to find directions to them on Google or a website? Do you have a link?
