75 Gallon Pictures & Build Thread

Hmmm I'm not sure if a bulkhead would fit. The hole is only big enough to fit 1/4" RO/DI tubing into. I was planning on sticking it through and sealing it in place... that part is connected to my auto top off which is a Level-Loc so I wouldn't need the ball valve.

then get a plastic elbow that comes as a replacement for an ro/di unit and silicon that in place. The tubing gets inserted into it and it has an o ring so it can't leak

This is all I found.

"North American Fish Breeders
2260 Kingston Road
Scarborough, Ontario"

that's the place---goggle it to get exact directions

we usually go their first then come back and visit Reef Raft and Aquatic Kingdom

depending on what you want--eg frags then this place is out of Oakville too
www.wickedfrags.com

Google says ReefRaft is a phising site.... how odd... a phising website for a "fish" hobby.

I can't find a link to Aquatic Kingdom. Keeps telling me it's past toronto on Google maps.

Do you have a picture of the elbow for the RO/DI unit?

google where's the reef--that's the old place--Aquatic Kingdom is on the same street about a 1/2 a mile down from the old place

I don't have a pic of the elbow but if you look on your ro filter it is the housing for the yellow and blue lines

Cool. I've heard good things about them. Do you have a phone number for them by any chance? Can't find one anywhere but I have a rough idea on the location. Just wanted to phone in on live rock prices.

What the heck... $20 bucks total for one? Anywhere I can pick one up in Canada?

see Dan at Mops

www.mops.ca

He is mail order but the warehouse is on the east mountain in Hamilton.
If you haven't using him for everything dry goods then you will be amazed to visit. Everything is 30 per cent less then the LFS's

Take the QEW to the link---get off a Dartnell and you are right there--40 min from the Falls

I would make two gaskets--silicon the gaskets on then silicon the fitting.

I"m sorry. I don't know what you mean by gasket.

I"m sorry. I don't know what you mean by gasket.

It creates a water and air tight seal. Here is a picture of one on a standard bulkhead.

thanks Tim for the pic

You need the gasket because the union might move if you pull on the drain line--that is helped by the two gaskets

So the gasket is the rubbery black circle part? Or the entire black piece? Haha plumbing was never one of my best subjects. :)

Now I"m all confused argh :(... So I have to buy that 1/4" RO/DI Elbow... stick that through the rubbermaid container... silicone gaskets around it... then silicone everything?

So I got my rocks today (dry fiji) and also picked up 14 pounds of live rock from a very local store.. just down the road (nothing great but not far a drive)... it looks alright. Will post pictures tomorrow.

I asked the lady if she has any epoxy... she they dont use it anymore because it leaks toxins into the tank... I gave a funny look because she probably has never heard of aquarium safe epoxy? Anyways I wanted to ask... can you use silicone to glue rocks together? Or should I use epoxy?
