9010 and Foam extractor

My 9010 with original cup skims around 100ml per day,
I purchased a foam extractor and have persevered with it for 2 weeks but cannot remove any where near 100ml/day. At the moment am trying 6.5 turns out and daily have been trying no more than 1/4 turns difference.

Any ideas please as would like to attempt to have my moneys worth. The 9010 on its own is brilliant compared to my MCE600 parked in the garage.
Thanks

It seems about the same, looks slightly different at the bottom of a gallon jug.
The only thing I can think of is that on purchase of the Extractor I did not receive the hose, so fitted plastic 1.5" waste pipe after the original black 90 deg.
Should I expect more skimmate??
Thanks

There might not be more necessarily but it should be more concentrated. If the volume is the same and the skimmate thicker and darker that would be correct.

So the foam extraction outlet sits higher than the overflow of the standard 9010 cup? Once I figure out how to keep the chaetomorpha from clogging up the intake (requiring manual maintenance two or three times a day) I'd like to use the extractor. However, my 9010 normally doesn't produce a high foam level and so it may not reach the extraction outlet. It sure collects a lot of junk on the inside wall of the reaction chamber though.

I have taken my extractor off now, but the top of it is app. 2.5" higher than the 9010 cup.
See my above posts, I still cannot get it to work as good as the 9010 cup. It could be that when I clean the cup and extractor just in my tap water, it can take 6 hours to start skimming again. I mioght try cleaning in RO water.

If you have the room it wouldnt take much to partition the chaeto off, eggcrate or something like that, or build an eggcrate cage around the skimmer. With the flow to the skimmer first.
We probably all have too much chaeto anyway.

Luck

Usually if the foam level is low the venturi nipple is not fully inserted in the nozzle- it should be about half way in, give it a firm push. The hose could also be kinked or the pump outlet may not be inside the jet pipe in the skimmer.

Thanks Roger,
I deffinitely on occasion see a slight difference in the amount of water out of the exit pipe, Its possible that the rubber feet were sticking to the glass platform I made as I have found the bottom plate very slightly not in proparly, so have now sat it on good old eggrate. I think you hit the nail on the head, not enough foam for the extractor. I shall try another hose as it may have been trapped sometime and nicked.
