A few of my SPS

Thanks once again for your generous remarks. One new thing I started dosing "color elements" (just dosed last night for the 2nd time - once per week) and I hope it will help. According to Claude from Fauna Marin it is supposed to help the corals absorb the elements they need more effectively by creating a spike with the weekly dose to give them a bump and produce better color. The "spike" idea goes against the normal sps husbandry practices but it is supposed to work with these trace elements. I will post my observations here so stay tuned. I actually noticed a slight improvement this past week but can't say for sure if it from dosing color elements or not. I think it will take at least a month to know for sure.

Thanks for the info greg:)
Will be waiting for your results, regarding the elements.

Had an issue in which this a.subglabra browned out - it is starting to get some color back although very slowly. It still gets a lot of whiskers though.

Here is a slow grower - a.caroliniana from Oculus - I think they went out of business about a year ago & this frag is a little over 2 years old. Still small but it has very bright color.

Speaking of slow growers - This one is finally getting some color but the PE is usually so heavy it's hard to see it.

Nice update!
Beautiful.
I love the first shot. What is that crazy yellow acro?
And the green dragon is getting huge.
What's the coral beside the purple bonsai?

Thank you! Not sure of the species yet - it's my version of a wolverine knock-off. :frog:

Yes that green dragon is getting to be really nice sized colony.

That green with purple polyps was an insurance frag from a wild piece I got from a Walt Smith Fiji order several years back. I can't wait until it really branches out - if memory serves it was a rather unique looking acro

Hello Greg,

First of all, what an amazing corals you've got there! Really stunning!

Too bad you don't know what Arco the yellow and red polyp Acro is! I've been looking for it's name for a while now. I got it a bout a year ago from Extreme Corals.
When I tried to get it of the stone on which it arrived I broke it in to two pieces (i'm clumsy). It took a while before it started growing, but now it's starting to grow out. Recently I rebuild a part of my reef and one of the pieces had insane polyp extention.

The colour is not as good as yours, what do you do to keep to yellow from turning greenish?

If you ever find out what kind of Acro it is I would love to hear it!

Greetings Youri

Beautiful corals Greg, love the Hoek and the Milli especially.

Thanks that mille is quite unique but hard for me to capture in pictures. It has developed lots of yellow corallites and growth tips making a sweet contrast with the bright pink.

Thanks for the compliment. That coral was brown when I got it and then turned green & has since turned bright yellow being directly under 250 watt Pheonix bulb.

The corallites in your picture reminds me a lot of this other piece I have in my tank that I believe to be A.nobilis

Hi Greg,
post 236, RH side view -- I had to take a double take.

I said to myself "lucky oldude" man that tank has some massive front to back dimension- seeing 4 vortec's on the short end of the tank. It took me a bit to see where the reflection started.
as always - beautiful tank you have there :)
