Nice. I had a veru similar one as an aquaculture mini-colony. It stayed as a brown turd for a year before it exploded with growth and color and then I loved it again. Did yours take a long time to acclimate?

Yes that species can take a while to get its' act together

Outstanding colonies... colors and PE are to die for.
Thanks for the compliment - thanks for looking

Looking sweet Greg!!!

Thanks much, I appreciate your support

Awesome sauce as always Greg. I love the polyps on that second acro pic, very pretty

The color contrast between the corals in that third pic is stunning mate :)

Thanks Andrew. The particular - white polyp - coral was grown from a couple of tiny crumbs I saved off a small colony that RTN'd several years ago. Hard to get a decent pic of it that shows the blue growth tips.
Love the polyp extensions specially that bluish white one what is it.?
Thanks - not 100% sure but I've always thought it was a variety of A.kimbeensis

Hi Greg,

Your tank is amazing.

I would like to ask you a question:

I have recently purchased a frag from a wild Australian pink Acropora millepora colony. What would be your advice on its placement in terms of light exposure and flow? If you ever measured PAR, an indicative value would also be useful.

regards

Thanks very much.
What sort of lighting do you have & what sort of lighting was it under when you got the frag?

I have an 8 X 39W ATI Powermodule (5 X ATI B+ & 3 ATI C+). The colony is being kept under Radion leds in my lfs' facility. I believe that my lfs received this coral very recently (less than a month). It looked quite pink his sales tank, but not as pink as the one you have in your tank.

I would think with T5's you should be able to place it fairly high in the tank however keep an eye on It and lower at the first signs of bleaching.
This is what I would do but as stated keep a close watch and if it reacts at all negatively you should find a lower spot and move it up gradually. Also make sure it is getting good random flow, in my experience flow helps promote better polyp extension.
Good luck.

Congrats on totm again. Beautiful colonies I'm quite jealous of your success someday my colonies will be this big! Hopefully before I kick the bucket :-)

Hi Greg,

Congratulations on TOTM. I will now start reading your TOTM article to get inspired.
