A reef in the North -133G sps/lps

Update! I've got hold of some corals from Australia. I also bought a used GHL Profilux 3.1T, but haven't set it up yet.

Here's some of the new corals :bounce3: Sorry for the pictures, was in a hurry.

Here's an update from my young reef. I have struggled with cyano and lost a couple of corals. But now things are finally starting to look good again. Coralline algae is finally starting to grow and the cycle is finally settling in. In the cycling I've lost a couple of frags and a large aussie colony. All corals has been bleached and are finally now starting to get some color back and some growth.

Here's a couple of pictures from some of the corals in the system.

Acropora Tortuosa (Mother of Pearl). This has had a good comeback from tissue necrosis.

Bali Shortcake

Red Robin. I'm so glad this survived. Can't wait for more growth and color!

Acropora Millepora (Sapphire Milli). Sorry for the poor quality. This will hopefully become blue.

Good to see you posting again. Sometimes th3 tanks don't progress as well as we hope but it looks like things are getting better.

What is your fishlist for this tank?

Yeah I've just let the tank settle inn by itself. When the cyano started to take over I took a cure with Chemiclean (half dose). That worked very well.

I dont have a large fish list yet. But this is mye algae crew:

Ctenochaetus Hawaiiensis
Salarias Ramosus
Zebrasoma Flavescens

More pictures:

Acropora sp. Not sure what this is. This is the frag that has had most growth the last months.

IMG_5763.jpg

I think this is a Microclados. Bought as "Limeade".

Hi Nick! Thanks! How are you and the tank doing? Great to hear from you.

Do you know what Acropora this is? It's one of the two I got extra. But can't remember what the mother colony looked like.

This is what it looked like when I got it (top right)

Tank looked much better when you saw it, :) I've neglected it for 4 months, a lot of corals grew really big though. Now I'm back at it.

I still can't believe you took those frags across the world. Haha

I forgot the actual name, but I call it a green eye unicorn, it's just like Bali shortcake but with bright green polyps.

Good to see you back here pal. I also tend to lose interest in the summer :) I hope your Acropora are healthy. Looking forward to see updates in your thread!

Thanks for the picture! Looking forward to see those green/yellow tips on my coral.

Ps. Im glad you live in the west coast. Looking at CNN now to see the hurricane status. So sad to see all the damages in the Carribean and Florida.

I'm also impressed you brought those frags so far!
They are looking good.
Nice new additions!

Yeah I still can't believe the condition they were in after over 24 hours transit. I've unfortunately lost the Red Dragon and the Emerald om Fire. But the frags are finally starting to grow now :)

Thanks. I will sell some of the LPS though. I threw out the sand when I had the cyano outbreak and will go barebottom for now and concentrate on the sps!

Here's my latest addition to my tank by the way. I've always wanted to try this tang. And I'm glad I did. It does a great job with the algae.

Sorry for the quality. I didnt have my camera ready so I had to use my phone.

Thanks! I hope for massive growth of the frags now so I have something to take pictures of

Here's a video from today. Sorry for the bad focus on some of the frags, it's difficult to film with the phone under water.

Remember to see in 1080p.

Sorry for the wrong format on the movie. For some reason Youtube got this in portrait, fixed it now to landscape :)

Here's an update. The system looks good now and the frags are growing and colouring up nicely.

Vivid's Fire Garden. Still waiting for more colour on this one.

Green Lantern stag. I almost lost this one. Looks way better now than a couple of weeks ago.

IMG_6034.jpg

Sapphire Millepora. This is placed to deep I think. Will move this when I find my glue.

IMG_6022.jpg

Grape Vine Valida. Sorry for the bad picture. This is in the back of the reef, so it's hard to hold the camera steady without support.

Here's whats left of the Aussie Shortcake after it lost a lot of tissue.

Hey buddy. Acros are all looking very good. How many fish do you now have in the tank? What is the PO4 and NO3 levels? What are you feeding the fish daily?

I really look forward to seeing this tank mature. I miss your old old 140G tank...that tank was superb.

Hi Sahin! Thanks, I'm pretty satisfied with the colours now after looking at browned and bleached frags for 5 months :lmao:

Here's my small fish list:

Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis (Chevron Tang)
Salarias Ramosus (Starry Blenny)
Zebrasoma Flavescens (Yellow Tang)
(and 2 cleaner shrimps and a dozen turbo snails)

I feed the fish with Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef Flakes daily and frozen (mysis, artemia) a couple times a month.

Yeah I miss that tank also. Such a shame I lost all those Acroporas and Montiporas :sad1:

Edit: A while since I last checked, but nutrients has stayed low since the tank cycling matured. I'll test and let you know this week.
