Took some pictures yesterday. The Zeovit is working perfectly. I'll change the Zeovit stones for the third time tomorrow and will then start to add more KZ products for colours.

Another picture of the Florida.

IMG_2714.jpg

A. Sarmentosa. This is not getting enough lighting. Too bad. Will frag this and see if it colours up. If not I will sell it.

The A. Aculeus is looking better. Still not good, but still alive.

A. sp frag. I am excited about this one. Will be fun to watch it develop.

A. Subglabra. This is not getting enough light.

A couple of Rainbow monties that is going out soon. Will not have any Montiporas in this setup.

Updates: Still struggling with Aiptasia. Bought four more L. Wurdemanni shrimps to help out. But they are not leaving the LR. Possibly because of my Flamehawk. The Aiptasia is really starting to annoy me. Might need to try my fifth Chelmon Rostratus if the shrimps aren't eating any.

Hey Andreas. Corals are looking much better. I'm glad the zeovit is working out for you. There isnt many Zeovit + LED systems at least not in this forum. So its good to follow your results.

I want a piece of that blue turaki. :( Cant believe you didnt want that in your tank!!! :D

Which camera are you using these days? And how are you setting the white balance? I am going to pickup a Canon 70D in 2 weeks or so. :)

Just found this thread...
Andreas, I love your scape..very beautiful!
It was interesting to see your corals go through the new tank set up phase.
I love that rosaria and tour turaki looks as close to a Hawkins echinata as I have ever seen.
I will be following with interest!

Hey Sahin, thank you. I am very satisfied with Zeovit so far. I am looking forward to see the results when I start to add KZ B/K/A Balance, Pohls Xtra, Zeospur ++

I am using an old Canon EOS600D with Canon EF-S 18-55mm F3,5-5,6 IS II
and Canon EF-S 60mm F2,8 Macro USM

Looking forward to see some pictures with the 70D. Thats a good camera :)

Tank you Matt. I was very happy with the aquascape result. I think the Rosaria will develop further, but very happy with the Turaki. It is very simmilar with the "Hawkins". Most Acroporas that are labeled "Hawkins Echinata" is in fact not an Echinata, but a Turaki like mine :)

Here are some pictures from October 23. Sorry for the dark images.

I am on my third change of Zeovit stones and the corals are beginning to bleach a bit. Will start to add more KZ products this week. Looking forward to see how the Acroporas will respond:bounce2:

Nice progress Andreas. What Zeo supplements are you intending to use? Which one does what?

I love your photography, Andreas.
Your shots always look like you have been diving in a pristine natural reef somewhere.
Great looking corals.

Hi Sahin, happy new year to you! The corals have not been great for the last months. I've not had time to keep the aquarium in the condition it should have been in. Have lost a couple of corals and have had an issue with cyano and algea. I borrowed two Butterflies for a couple of months ago and are finally free of aiptasia (at least I think I am). They have been busy eating several hundred aiptasia and now I can't see any more:dance:

Have taken some water changes the last month and things are finally starting to look better. Changed zeovit stones today and now I will run the full zeovit again. Have only run basic zeovit now when I have had some trouble. I have got the no3 and po4 down to about 0 now and I will buy a fish who can eat some of the macro algeas I have on some of the rocks. Any suggestions? I had a Z Desjardinii which I sold for a month ago. I want something more "exciting" this time.

Will take some pictures when the colour start to come back.

Andreas

The spathulata and rosaria are looking great! Glad you caught the AEFWs before adding them too!

What butterflyfish did you use for the Aiptasia? I'm trying to figure out a control method for mine as well.

I've got a hold of frags from these corals by the way :bounce3:

Pictures are of the mother colonies.

Blue/Purple A Simplex maybe?

A. Sp with Yellowish tips. I believe this has more potential though.

Thanks. I am sad to say that I now only have the pink Spathulata left and the Rosaria is gone as well.

I lent these two:
Chaetodon Ulietensis
Chaetodon Auriga

The Auriga was the most efficient by far. They will however start to nip on your corals when they are done with the aiptasia. I have the Ulietensis still as I lost the Auriga. But I want it in the tank for a while so I am certain that there are no more aiptasia left in the LR.

Both fish took flake and mysis by the way.

Took a couple of shots today to document the poor condition of a few of the Acroporas and the lousy colour on several of them. Filled up the balling+ today so I hope the colour and growth will be better in a couple of months.

My only A. Spathulata (aussie) for the moment. This was pink/peach before all went downhill.

IMG_3718.jpg

IMG_3770.jpg

A. sp (aussie). This is one of the few who have maintained some of the colour along the way. Had stronger blue/purple colour when I got it.

IMG_3780.jpg

IMG_3736.jpg

A. sp (aussie). This lost a lot of colour. But this tip has finally started to grow and get a hint of colour.

IMG_3756.jpg

IMG_3712.jpg

One of my A. Microclados (aussie) frags. This one is looking quite good compared to the other two I have.

IMG_3807.jpg

IMG_3751.jpg

My A. Florida (aussie) lost a lot of tissue. I think I'm going to frag it and throw the rest away. Will take to long time to grow over the dead parts and it doesn't look very nice now.

IMG_3715.jpg

One of my new frags. A. sp. This one is from Indonesia (Golden Marindo). Will get yellow-ish tips (I certainly hope so).

IMG_3723.jpg

Acropora Turaki and Acropora Awi. The Turaki is actually looking very good. The Awi will be more pink/red when it's better.

IMG_3738.jpg

IMG_3792.jpg

The A. Sarmentosa (aussie) was struggeling and have had poor lighting. Fragged it yesterday. Will be fun to watch how the frag will develop. I mounted it high on the reef in a central spot with a lot of light.

IMG_3775.jpg

IMG_3714.jpg

Here's my new Blue/Purple Acropora Simplex. I think this is from Golden Marindo as well in Indonesia.

IMG_3746.jpg

This is my second Acropora Microclados (aussie) frag. This had fallen down in the sand and had lost a lot of colour. Mounted it back to the reef yesterday where it will get a lot of light. Will be interesting to compare it to the other frag who is on a rock in the sand.

IMG_3726.jpg

This is also a new frag. I got a part who had been in the shadows of the mother colony so it doesn't look so good atm. It is an A. Microclados (aussie) and it is supposed to get blue corallites and tips with a white-ish base.

IMG_3711.jpg

I thought I had lost this A. Aculeus (aussie), but look at it now!

IMG_3749.jpg

All the Aussie corals is from Cairns Marine.

I'll try to take more pictures, my motivation the last couple of months has not been at the top.

Visited a friend who has a 800G reef and took some phtotos. I have to share them with you here. Was very pleased with a couple of the shots I took. I don't have many fish to take photos of, so I had the opportunity here!

Here is his White Tang. This is not very common!
