a simple sps tank

Can you please tell me what T5 tube combo you are using front to back?

Also, I am sorry if you mentioned this in the thread already, but what are your PO4 and NO3 readings? I suppose with such a low fish loads you should have very low values.

And lastly, with regards to your photos, if you have white balance setting on your camera, turn it up to 10K or more...or take custom white balance reading if that is possible. Your photographs will come out much better with this simple change.

Regards.

Sahin.

Dude, no rush. I still don't have my tank thread up due to lack of decent photo equipment. Like I said, love the minimalist style scape. Great overhangs and nice platform. Nice work my friend.
Can't thank you enough for your kind comments fail_shed:beer:
Really glad you like the new scape.I hope you still like it,at the new photos
being inside the tank with corals on it.
Minimal is my favorite approach!
Eesy flow, lots of room for corals and fish swimming etc:bounce2:
Can't wait to see your tank thread...and thaaank you again for the comments!

Wow, I love this tank. Beautiful! I really like how you have that overflow with skimmer in there.

Really really glad you like it sahin, thank so much!
In my effort to have a sumpless tank that skimmer was one of the
best and practical options.
It worked like a beast!Of course having only one fish made its work easy:D
I changed it now to a tunze 9206 and i'm really happy.
Now with the sump plugged on the system again i have some more choices.

My current bulb combo(in all th photos) front to back is
blue plus
aquablue
actinic

All ati bulbs.
I'm considering putting back some coral plus but at the moment i'm happy with
the current combo

Don't wοrry my friend, never bored to talk about our hobby:fish1:
No3 and po4 are zero according to my salifert tests.
Like you said, having one fish makes it easy!
But to tell you the truth i want to bump my no3 to 2 at least.

Huge hug for your effort to improve my photos sahin!
Unfortunatelly the combination of my lack of skills and my bad camera are
detrimental:D
I'll try you advices though!

Thaaaanks again my friend:)

Really nice color...what do you dose?

Many many thanks pocci!!!
I only dose three times per week(not all together)
30 ml reef fuel
30 ml reef snow
and 30 ml of a big mix of all th foods i have for fish.
I take every frozen, flake food for fish and liquid for corals and put them
all together in a blender.

Thanks again for your kind words!

Ah...you have two of my favorite reef fishes! The Achiles Tang and the elegant Mandarin. Neither of which I can keep in my tank.... :sad1:

I dont have the time/space/effort required to keep a large tank. Maybe one day though...:hmm2:

Beautiful specimens my friend. I bet your Mandarin is SOOO happy to be in this large tank by himself with lots of pods all to himself.

I got question for you:

I also keep bare bottom tank. I find nutrient management easier this way. But my god it does look ugly compared to sand...

Do you scrap the bottom or you leave it to grow Coralline algaes?

i wish one day you will have the time, space and effort my friend to keep any fish you want in any tank size you want!!
Yeah the mandarine is soooooo happy and fat!Really fat!

Lol...it sure is ugly but makes nutrient control sooo easy(like you said).
After the change i put some crushed coral inside.

Those two years that it was bare bottom i didn' scrape the tank.
I was to lazy to do it...although it would make it look prettier:p
If the bottom of the tank was black maybe i'd scrape it.

Thanks again for your kind words!
Amazing reef, I can't believe you're only using a tunze 9002 skimmer on that size tank!
Thank you very much Cmoua!
I also, never thought that it would do such a good job.
And it's relatively cheap.
Of course having only one fish makes it's job easier;)
AND you have an Achiles!? He's a healthy one too.

Awesome fish. Can't wait to have a big enough tank for one...
Thank so much Fail_shed!!
I wish one day you will have your dream tank and i'll be happy reading your thread!

So...update time guys.

The new skimmer(tinze 9206) and reactor couldnt possibly fit in the overflow so i plugged a sump again.
I made it with normal length and very little width.
Dimensions 90x25x50.
Big enough to fit only my equipment and absolutely no sections and dividers.

Nice work on the new sump. Has is the water draining into the sump? Do you have a siphon overflow? Or something else?

Thank you very much sahin:beer:
Until today,i'm really happy with it.
It stays clean easily and the reactor, skimmer and heaters work as better as possible, because of the narrow space.Almost all the of water that comes down passes through them.

The overflow has two holes at the bottom and two pipes drain it down.
Thanks for asking!I forgot that picture;)

pellets reactor

I also started using bio pellets.
I had a zeo reactor, the one in the sump

Απο 1122 by mad23_, on Flickr

Starting i removed the part that was ment to shake the zeolith.
I put a pump to move the pellets but every time it stoped, half of the pellets came out of the reactor.
So i removed the handle, drilled the disc and used it to make stable the pipe

Απο 1250 by mad23_, on Flickr

Glued this to the pipe,so the pump could be secure and easily placed

Απο 1251 by mad23_, on Flickr

And the result

Απο 1257 by mad23_, on Flickr

So i closed the hole at the bottom, put the pump, pellets and here is what the reactor looks like now.Hope it will do the job!:)

I was so tempted to add sand a couple of months back...but the algae cycles that come with it deterred me. You are brave. :fun2:

I like the new rockwork. A large Elegance coral would love amazing on that sandbed. You have so much negative space. Very nice effect! :D
