A year since adding water...

Derekbc

But I quarantined!
Areucrazy inspired me to post some pics of my tank. I'm looking forward to the upcoming PROP auction, where I hope to find a few more additions... Every coral in my tank has either been shared by a member of Reef Central, purchased at a FRAG meeting, or purchased at a PROP auction.

My tank is a Solana XL60 and is lit by two AI Sol Blues--which I'm still afraid to ramp up over 50%...

It looks great. I love how the Solana tanks look. Love that orange mushroom! If it ever is ready to frag, let me know.

Looks great!
Looks like you have some great flow going on also!

Thanks! Yes, flow is provided by two mp10s.

Tank looks good.

Thanks, Bob!

Beautiful! What is the coral at the bottom right of your tank in the first shot?

Thank you! The coral in the bottom right is a gsp--given to me by Anthrax when I first set up my tank. It gets amazingly long extension... It fell over while I was on vacation, and that is why it is "bald" on top.

Thanks! I'm fond of the cube! I think you may be talking about the Superman Mushroom, that Helfrichs Chic gave me. It has since split from 1 into 3. I'll try placing a piece of rubble by it and see if I can get a split isolated.

AWESOME!!! I love it!! Your tank is so pretty! I LOVE LOVE those FAT PALYS!! I want some! I have seen them at Aqua Touch.

pics do no justice to your setup! still good pics.
Great job Derek!

btw, the xenias and gsp you gave me are doing great. many frags were passed on to other rc members...
thanks again

Thank you much! :) They are palythoa grandis, which I picked up at a PROP auction--there were only two polyps... Yes, I think Aqua Touch has some for sale right now. I've been looking for the green variety for some time, but don't want to order via the Internet.

Thanks, Francis! Glad to hear you are passing along the xenia and gsp! I think I'm going to have more xenia to pass along shortly--it's taking off in the fuge area of my sump.

looks good....Chaeto i got from you i has passed along to 5 reefers...

Thanks, Danny! Glad the chaeto is doing well for you.

Very Nice!

Thanks!

I too have passed along a frag of pulsing zenia to Fig70 :) Sharing is caring :) Let me know if you ever sell any of those grandis :)

I've seen this tank in person...very Clean and Classy looking aquarium in a beautiful home!

The pictures really don't convey how pristine it presents...

...and thanks again Derek, for the green star polyps...the person I gave it to loves it like nothing else...!

So glad the pay it forward trend exists in the reef community! When the grandis gets bigger I'll let you frag them! :)

Wow, thanks! The tank isn't as pristine as it usually is though, I'm in the midst of my summer painting project--time to rid the house of the colors chosen by the previous owners!

I'm very glad the gsp went to someone who appreciates it! I just wish I hadn't let it take over that cool shelf rock!

love the rics and rhodactics lmk when you have some for sale

Thanks, will do!

Now 2 years since adding water, and several lessons learned, it's time for a bigger tank!

The 2nd picture is of my favorite I forgot the fancy name zoa. The 3rd is my biggest accomplishment, I picked up the blue trumpet as a 2 head frag from a fellow phoenix reefer a little over a year ago. It was a smaller start than the neon green I purchased at a PROP auction about 6 months earlier! The 4th picture is of the Pandora palys that are growing non-stop! And I finally found the green paly grandis I've been looking for!

Any recommendations on a 125 to 150 gallon rimless tank would be greatly appreciated!

Derek
