I think a lot of the speculation will be over when enough of us who have the frags grow them out a bit, and show off our pics.
There are several factors that will affect this coral in our (consumers) tanks.
Needless to say, most of us who have purchased this piece are very serious reefers with quit a bit of experience. Also, our tank parameters are likely going to be far better than Tropicoriums, as most, if not all of us run systems with high quality skimmers, top notch lighting, and the ability to spot feed easily.
Given these factors, I think we are all likely to see the coral not only match both pictures, but even have the chance to see it far exceed the colors of the mother colony.
I can say with all honesty, that 99% of the corals that i have gotten from them, have only gotten nicer once in my personal system. I think everyone will see the same results. I know when i buy corals from nearly everywhere, colors improve in my tank. More in SPS than anything else, but LPS is no exception.
Just for reference, i shot a couple pics of the Trop, just so you can all see what im talking about.
These are just the two prop tank rooms, not including the thousands of gallons of regular tanks full of fish.
Each vat is about 2000 gallons, and there is 16 total vats. All are lit primarily with natural sunlight 90% of the time.
