Acropower Results Documented

Certainly not accusing you of the difference, but there is a clear difference with the white balance of the two photos.

Ok, well I'm not a good photographer by any means, but hope the difference in colour comes across fairly! :)
It's been my 1st time using amino acids of any type, but am impressed with growth and coloration since I've started and it's only been a matter of a few weeks!

I have used this stuff on at least a dozen tanks. I saw straight up amazing results in a couple tanks, decent yet noticeable results in several tanks, and no change in a few of them. Overall, I would say the product is pretty solid.

Which is probably the opinion you'd find on most of the competing products.

My LFS started using Red Sea Reef Energy on their tanks and saw immediate improvements. I tried and it couldn't see anything happen.

Just ordered some of the Acropower. It'll be interesting to see if it makes a difference.

You would see noticeable results on a ULNS.

1ml an hour for 10hrs over night via dosing pump. I run a low nutrient sys and like my results. You can buy the stuff by the gallon

Imho these products are bollux. Mostly they are worthless.

Why do people still see positive results?

I think it is because when they start with the products they pay more attention to the tank. And the overall health will become better because of better husbandary.

The slimmer in that pic looks horrible from the start. My green slider looked 10x better than his after picture.

I don't think this is a band aid for poor reefing practicing. I do think that's what people are using them for.

Also +1... kz supplements have been around forever along with other additives. Just keep proper levels and you will have success.

Well you're welcome to your opinion. That's the beauty of a public forum.

However your rationalization about why people see positive results just states your bias and lack of an open mind. The fact that you feel the need to post that demonstrates your lack of confidence in your own belief.

I'm dosing it to my 120g SPS tank with 40 frags:) I keep a log book with my tank observations, so will see. I am seeing my SPS with lack of PE and slightly pale.

I've used them too. Like everyone else. However there is no real evidence to support the need of amino acids.

Maybe they do work, just some questions i never could find anywhere.

1. Why doesn't it work for everybody (ok bad conditions in the tank)
2. How the *** will you know you are doing it right? As far as i see you just done somthing without knowing the need.

Do they work, i don't know for some people they might work. However i do think that a lot of times it's not the product (amino acids or any other product) that helps people to get a better tank. It's a change in attitude that changes the tank.

I'm in this hobby for about 6 years now, my first tank was terrible. (i could barely keep monti's alive, while i was doing everything right). The current tank, i slack on maintenance sometimes, but as long as i add KH/CA/MG (doser) the corals are happy.

I'm using the new products when i see the need. Or the nice thing of it. However i've stopped with all the magic addictions to my tank that i cannot measure.

For me it's the same as the stuff i eat. I would love to know what is inside it. From my past i still like some of the Dutch junkfood. However on normal meals i use stuff where i can know what it is.

Same goes for my aquarium, if i cannot eat it (don't mind the taste) i don't like it. (exeption for phosate binders, and activated carbon).

Know what you are using, instead of believing the manufacturer that tells you how great it is. In general i do think most products might work on paper, however they just let the people test it. And if it sells it's good, even if it doesn't work.

:lolspin:

I was wanting to try it and have three of the five seafoods except oysters and clams, problem is I won't shut my system down to feed and I don't see many folks talking about it besides you:)

I think that's because the hype dyied down in 2007 it works better then anything I have ever tried.
Ps it's now called oyster feast lol

For those in the USA and Australia who want to try Pappone where HGH is strictly Rx only, you might consider pure, unflavored whey protein. Most of the polypeptides in whey are of similar size to HGH (150-200ish AAs long), so would likely be of comparable nutritional value, given HGH's lack of biological activity in corals. Egg white would be another option, but some of the proteins there are a bit larger.
