AI Director Beta - Who got picked? Lets talk 'Director'!

Nah, I'll just keep it and let it sit for a few week getting updates and then try again.

I'm not really upset about it. I guess I'm just shocked that a company well known for quality engineering sent out a product for testing that simply doesn't work and therefore can't be used and tested.

One thing I'd definitely like to see though is a page somewhere that lists the updates AI sends out and what each updates improves. My director has received two updates so far and I don't have a clue what either one did other that adding the feedback button.

I am sure AI would have liked to ship a perfect product and have us find no bugs. There may many reasons why it is not perfect ATM that we are all unaware of and may not have been planned for. I do know they are in business to make money and will work as hard as they can to make a product that people want to buy. Lets just help them by reporting bugs and suggestions.

How can you tell when you get an update?

I would of thought we got a discount to test and work through the bugs. then when they release to the public it would go up at least $100

Well, taking a look at the hardware, I'd say it'll be priced somewhere between $150-200. This is my estimate based on A) how they priced the "new" controller and B) the cost of the chips used in the Director. I haven't done a side-by-side comparison but the wireless board inside the Director looks to be the same as the board inside the new controller. So they may have saved a bit there by being able to order that board in higher quantities and use it in both controllers.

We have an update! I was able to get some control via safari, but not firefox. Again, my problem was I had a sol - vega upgrade.

Just to track updates, as of today my rev numbers are:

This morning, my firmware seems to have been upgraded since last night. I am curious if these updates are global or directed at users who have sol → vega upgrades vs complete vega's.

Just opened it up, and i know i am knit picking, but Anyone else's director look scratch up like it was used before?

Yep. Mine did. I'm more concerned with how buggy the beta has been. While I'm confident they'll get everything sorted out, it amazes me how poorly it works with the SOL wireless adapters and the upgrade units. You'd think those issues would have been resolved prior to sending out the beta/alpha.

Global ... I have a Vega and today I am at .218 for the controller module.
