AI Hydra Settings Thread

Lol nice. What did you set your numbers at??

I just copied a member on here...45 white 50 blue/green 60 all blues. Oh and 45 uv??? I forgot to ask AI about the uv but he said just dial in a color you like. I'm only using one hydra for a 36x24x12 and it's sitting about 12-13inches above the water line. Coverage is great. It's mounted from front to back. Gonna take a look and see if it's different if I mount from left to right...thoughts?

Nice. I've been all over the place w my numbers. But I've gotten great results w my whites at 50, blues and UV at 80, and red and green at 20. Mounted 12" from the water. I have a shallow tank at 17" but I also had a glass lid

I'd love to see more pictures of the light in action and if anyone can do post a video showing the lights ramping up and down that would be great. Im in the planning stages for my tank that will be 96x36x26 and trying to decide on lighting.

Currently have 3 Hydra's on my 6 foot 125. Will be adding 4th soon. Love the lights, to early to tell how if corals will.

White 40
Violet 45
Red 20
Breen 20
D-Blue 70
Royal 70
UV 45

4 hour ramp time
sunrise 9:45
sunset 9:00
Ramp Time 4 hours

HI,
I am using 2 hydra. The big question I have is what are the optimal settings for SPS. I had read in the advanced forums that high on blue and low on white was best. If the corals are washed out, reduce intensities and if they are browned out, check nutrients and/or increase intensities. I also seem to remember people complaining about green color in the white LED being somehow bad. I like the look of high hydra green levels but will it be bad for my corals.
Here are my settings currently:
UV 25%
violet 46%
both blue 80%
green 44%
red 19%
white 50%.

The sliders on the director make it very easy to dial in the exact color that works for you.

hello everyone,I am new to this forum and enjoy this thread.I just recently purchased this light should receive it on Wednesday. thanks for all the info I thought I might have made a mistake.now I'm excited again new to saltwater.and I am just now cycling my tank

Hi got two hydra's for my 75 gal tank what is the best way to set them up? Do I use the Apex or the "wireless" AI controller? how High off the water? Any Help would be great Thanks Mike

Hey mike, I had mine set up length wise and just recently changed them to front to back. Seem to get better spread. Also I use the controller since I dont have an apex nor want one. As far as hight, they are 8 in of the water on my tank that is 20in tall. Start slow on intensities, I had to lower mine since I was frying **** lol

I'll be adding this light to my 60G build shortly and am AMAZED by how helpful Justin at Ai has been with all my ROOKIE questions in helping me first with my Ai Nano and now with directing me to the correct purchase for my 60G build.

I agree, Justin was fantastic before i purchased my lights and explained pretty much every aspect of led lighting requirements for my tank. i am glad i went with AI.
