I wanted to take time to Thank rpeeples [Ron] for the frags he so kindly gave to me to night. I'm sure Ron has posted some pic's of his tank but I can't imagine them doing any justise to seeing it live. It by far is one of the nicest tanks I've ever seen. He has been kind enough to offer some frags from his tank for free and you don't know what your missing. Again Thank You Ron I hope you'll stop by and let me return the kindness. Dave E

Dave, thanks for the kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you and Lee last night and I enjoyed the conversations as well. Thanks for the tips on fragging Ricordia's ;) Hopefully they will survive my butchering :)

It's nice to be able to share our passion with one another and to keep this hobby interesting for all of us. I will definitely get by your place in the near future and if you want a ride to downunder tomorrow let me know. I am flying solo at the moment. Just give me a shout if your interested. I am a virgin in the swap arena so it should be a kewl experience. I also plan on stopping by ReefKeepers in Garner. Great shop in my opinion.

Talk to you soon.

Thanks again!
Ron

Please bring your Alkalinity Test to the Swap

Please bring your Alkalinity Test to the Swap

Chris Jury is working on a project concerning the accuracy of
Alkalinity test kits. Please bring any Alk test kits you have to the
swap tomorrow and he will test it for its accuracy. In addition to
helping out the hobby as a whole, you will go home knowing if you have
an accurate kit. BTW, he will be testing the kits on site so you will
not have to give up your kit.

This is exactly what he would like for everyone to bring:

Alkalinity test kit(s) along with the date of purchase and date
of opening the reagents (or best estimates of dates) along with any
packaging/information on batch number, if included with the kit. Since
I will know the true total alkalinity of the water samples, I'll be
able to tell folks right away how accurate

answered you gary. Make sure to find me I wanna get a couple things from you cause the frags I got last time are doing great

Just got home and wanted to say thanks to Kevin and crew for the frag swap. I think that was about the biggest crowd we've had yet.

And thanks to everyone who bought corals from me.

Great job Kevin!

Agreed! The swap was fantastic and the new store looks great. Thanks Kevin for hosting and Brandon, Gary, Rob and everybody else for the frags.

I just can't wait to get this drive home done and get everything in the tank...

i hate i had to miss this one guys and gals. i ended up getting a newish car today :). at least i have a reliable ride for the next one LOL

I'm glad everyone had a good time today. I had a great time as well. I could not believe how many people were packed in that store. Thanks to everyone who traded/bought/sold frags with me.

I want to thank everyone that have helped me on this thread. It has been a great experience to move into the SW side of the hobby. I have very few items in my tank yet most of them have been given to me by experienced SW reef keepers.

My wife and I moved to NC almost 8 years ago from Columbus, OH. Columbus has a large aquatic community and it was never easy to find help - it was usually right down the street (literally). I have had to do a lot more driving and e-mailing in NC but the results are the same - great people, in a great hobby, that are very willing to help out a newbie. I hate that I missed the swap. Maybe the next one (anyone know when????)

Thanks!
