Anemone ID!!

Bought this anemone at a LFS as a Bubble Tip anemone and had it's tentacles bubbled, now I'm not sure as to whether it is a Magnifica or a Bubble Tip. It's mouth has white streaks and it's column has blue spots, not bumps. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

In the substrate like that i'm inclined to agree with Hypnotize I think its a very young LTA. Plus the tentacles look like that of a lta. Most bta's dont have spots on the column that ive saw.

The anemone isn't in a substrate at all, hasnt tried to move from its place on a rock at all as well. Here are more photos, just in case.

+1 to LTA. The tentacle base being so much thicker than the top is very unusual for a BTA, but very normal for a LTA.

Sorry about saying it looked like it was in substrate that rock on my phone looked like it was crushed coral. I still believe it to be a lta, which really does need to be in the substrate instead of up on a rock. They like to bury their foot in several inches of sand

Thanks, and no problem! I'll move it at once.

If its attached to the rock I would leave it alone. Though they are normally sand dwellers they do sometimes go up in the rocks. If it is attached its better left alone than to risk tearing the foot which is a death sentence. It will move to where it's happy,or if its happy there it may never move. What kind of lighting do you have?

I have 120 Dimmable LED lights, eBay ones. They have really good reviews. Still acclimating the anemone to them, it hasn't moved from it's spot, im guessing it's happy there.

The proper ID for this has nothing to do with the tentacles. Tentacle shape in BTAs is far too random. The deciding factor are the white verrucae in the second pic. It is certainly a LTA (Macrodactyla doreensis), but without that second picture (and the verrucae) it could have easily been mistaken for a BTA, especially with those white markings around the mouth.

I had an LTA that would climb on top of rocksduring the day then hide in a cave at night. Until it started playing patty cake with with a condy and they nuked the tank. Yep lessons learned:)
