anemone tentacles

I have been feeding my anemone with small bits of shrimp once daily and don't seems to grow. It will start to open wide when I switch on light and this is when I fed it. Thereafter, its tentacles start to become 'fatten'. With light off, overnight, its tentacles thin down to about 2 mm width. Cycle repeats for the past 1 and half year. It seems to be growing smaller

Few days ago, it started to move to vertical side of the rock facing the side of the tank and away from direct light. Tank light shine from top down.

Any advise on how to grow it and why such weird behavior.:eek1:

wat type of nem is that? if it is BTA, it just means u got enough lights for it so they don't need to stretch for lights, which I would consider to be a good thing. And "fatten" could mean bulb shape?

I think it is a BTA type. It was a little brownish when I bought it from LFS. But it has become white for a year plus. Ate shredded shrimps for past 1 year.

Nitrate around 20ppm
Nitrite and ammonia 0 ppm.

They live on light mostly like a plant. Feeding once a day is too much IMHO. If it is shrinking it is not good. It should be tan not white. What lights are you using? Are your fish hurting it?
