Yeah, they look like perculas to me too.
A little off topic I guess.. Just making sure I understand you right. You say that no one has pulled off a deep sand bed for 3 or 4 years without a tank crash? I have a deep sand bed..but I have nassarius snails, a sand sifting cucumber, sea biscuit, and a sand dwelling anemone. Wouldn't these creatures keep my tank from crashing? I thought deep sand beds were a benifit not a downfall.
ok, back to topic.
Perculas natural hosts are the difficult anemones. H. Crispa, S. Gigantea and H. Magnifica. You could get a haddoni but they may not accept it as a host. If you decide to get one of their natural hosts, it is difficult to find one that is healthy to begin with. Several people have said that they have bought healthy Giganteas from reefhotspot.com. I have never ordered from them so I can't recommend them.
No no no. I've just never seen anyone,
I know do it, and it was real popular here for a long time. I've seen it attempted, but no one ever made it long term. That's all. Maybe it wasnt even related, but people were saying the same thing online, it was coming under alot of fire, i know knowledgeble people and they warned me against it and to me it just wasn't worth the risk.
If it works for you, that's awesome. It's just not for me. I have a method that works already thats all. I dont have any nitrates ever, and it was cheaper to get to than all the sand, and critters, so cost and risk were my factors.
I dont want to open that can of worms. lol. I was just saying, thats why i dont have one.
ON what you said:
Well, they love the rose. That wont hurt them right to switch on them?
I recently had a friend and his just up and decided to move one day, burnt alot of stuff, most made it, he fragged the good parts but... aye aye aye... got me worried a bit and we actually like carpets more.
there are two shops near me in greeley, co and one has one in a display tank. This new tank's water has been 0 readable Phos and Nitrate since the second month it's been up and it's coming on a year, so I thought we could consider something more hardy now that we're a bit more establiched on this system and I know some people who really want a rose but are afraid to ship, etc.
