Anyone still using ASM

I used to only run asm skimmers but jumped on the bubble magus and octopus band wagon. Recently my nac 66 started killing impellers on a daily basis and finding a new pump was a bit of a challenge so I borrowed a g2 from a friend and put a sicce psx 1000 on it and I am very impressed. its so simple one pump and awesome bubbles.

I've gone back to ASM skimmers after Octopus changed their exit pipe from an adjustable stand pipe to a gate valve. I still think there is value in Octopus skimmers, as long as your water level in the sump does not change much.
I was watching a friends tank last week and poured a little extra saltwater in his sump so I could drain a few gallons to take his clownfish eggs, and his Octopus skimmer went nuts. An ASM would not have.

I've been running my asms for abut 6yrs; a 4x with a sedra 9000 and a 4xx with a sedra 15000 without any modifictions. I almost never have any issues with them . Once in a while I clean the venturis. It's a matter of time on the pumps so I'd like to hear more about the Sicce pump. Does it come with a needle wheel? Is it an easy fit into the asm. What size would equate toa Sedra 9000?

I am not sure what the equivalent to a 9000 would be but I will say this all I did was put a 3/4 female adapter and a small 3/4 90 with a little pipe and it went right in place

my whole store is run by them ,very inexpensive but yet quite dependable IME . they work great ,come see them in action !

I have a mini-G on my 65, works fine oem. Like tmz said, clean the venturi tube once in awhile, and you're fine.
