anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Because there were LOTS of issues with Jebo pumps not so much Jeabo.
Als, you are welcome for buying it for you but you never paid me back.:mad2:
lol

Oh yes you are right, there are not issues with Jeabo pumps...because the don't exist :frog:

I'm under the impression that everything electrical in our tanks leaks some stray voltage. Some more than others but I've never had issue because of it. Don't believe me, use a multimeter.

That's what I was told too, but when I was having problems with my Sailfin tang I got the following response on another forum...

I'm pretty sure it's my return pump.
Someone in another post said that there will always be some minimal stray voltage and the 6V is fine.

No need to replace the pump right away.

If you know you have stray voltage, why wouldn't you alleviate the issue? Just out of curiosity. This can't be comfortable to fish. BTW your grounding probe just creates a path for the electricity. It doesn't protect the fish from it's effects. Just sayin. Maybe if you keep this thread alive long enough, you will get the answer you want rather than the correct one.

If you are going to hack into one of these, the pump itself seems to be quite good. I've been running mine on a variable output power supply (at 15v for a week and 18v for the last 3 weeks) and it still working like new (even quieter than new). However, Jebao did say that running the pump on at less than 24v will damage the pump in the long run. A) I don't know that I believe much of what Jebao says. B) I'm not sure they even know what they are talking about. They are pretty much just a small factory that assembles pumps from parts that other people make. Some is proprietary to Jebao and some is openly availible to other Chinese factories.

They are right. If a pump runs on 24v and uses a PWM duty cycle to set the speed of the pump, why would giving it 18v be considered correct? It may 'work', but not the way it should. The pump interprets the signal as 75% power, but there is more going on with the signal than just voltage. It needs 24v and should be throttled via a duty cycle and not merely reducing the voltage, which is what the variable power supply does. You can do this by creating your own controller or using something to limit the output of the VA line by the stock controller.

Well, I just ordered one from fish-street for $108ish with shipping. Email today that it was shipped, figure I'll see it in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to adding some extra flow, preferably with more than just "on" setting. Guess we'll see whether or not I wasted my 100dollars.

Fish-street is pretty fast about shipping.
Mine was pre-ordered 3/22, shipped 3/25 and arrived 3/29.
I have read that other people get stuck getting into the US.

Any updates or reviews yet on this? because i was looking into tunze would like to see some reviews before i go with the tunze

There are 90 pages of reviews.
Basically the pump is great for the price, but customer service and support is terrible.

I guess the CS depends on where you get it from.

I have not heard anything about CS from anyone except Fish-Street.com.

Oh, wow, thanks for the info Sacohen!!!
I will definitely let them know as I did order through Fishstreet.

:)

Other than that this thing is pretty neat. I will get around to ordering the variable supply unit so I can see if I can use else mode in my tank.

I've spoken with someone over at jebao. I help out with a local fish store and the owner is German, doesn't speak so good english.. Anyways, over at Jebao they speak good english, I was told they have a 1 year warranty.. I would bet that their warranty process works like many other companies - they don't want to deal with the end user because it takes too much time and cost dealing with individual RMA's. What they want to do is get a box periodically with a bunch of RMA stuff and replace it to the dealer/wholesaler. It costs real money to have staff unbox junk and test dozens or hundreds of boxes, and send out new. It also adds a line of "defense" against getting working product returned as defective for no reason, which is a HUGE problem for retailers here.

Jebao works like many other chinese manufacturers, in that they don't stock anything. When you order, that's when they make your stuff. They do sell replacement parts (which my friend will be stocking).

Anyways, the pump has built in flow control, you just need to add a $2 potentiometer to "unlock" it. something like a 10k pot, with the middle lead going to the "VA" input on the pump, one side of the pot to ground and the other to the VA output from the controller chip. :deadhorse1:

Have you tried this to verify?

What size tank do you have?
I had this running Else mode on full 24v until I got my variable supply and it was not to bad, It took a little adjusting for placement and angle, but I had good movement in the tank and nothing was getting destroyed.

I put my Variable power supply on last week and I'm not sure if I'm happy with it.
I have it set at like 21v. When I hooked a voltmeter up to the output and adjusted the dial 15 and 18 v were virtually in the same position and 21v was a good bit up the dial.

I'm thinking of going with the PWM board, but don't know that much about it.
there has been reports that the one in this post works and it is $9.30 (Free shipping).

I found one which looks similar for 6.99 (including Shipping).

I haven't had problems with the pump.
I had a bad power cord and issues with the night sensor.
My gripe is with the customer support or lack of it.

I can't imagine what the WP25 support will be like. Non existent I bet for what you will be paying for a smaller scale, cheaper pump.

it took me a few days on my light sensor to find the sweet spot for it .. i notice tho when my stunners come on in the morning it takes bout 30 mins before the wave will start but at night right when the stunners go off it goes into light mode with no trouble .. seems like alot of people have had trouble with the cord .. i didnt even bother with the cord they sent . just used a old printer cable ..

i still have not tried the voltage drop .. im just going to leave it at 24 volts ..

It will probably be the same.
Again I've only have and heard of support with Fist-Street.com
I can't speak for any of the others selling it, but from what I've read the manufacturer is wiping their hands of it and leaving support up to the distributor.

You have to keep in mind that the people selling it on EBAY are getting it from Fish-Street.com,so you are dealing with at least a third party seller.

I was also told by the manufacturer that Fish-Street did not purchase the pumps directly from them they bought them from their distributor in China.

Fish-Street and Jebao both confirmed to me that there were issue with the power cord.
I don't really see how, it is a pretty straight forward thing.
