Count on it. :thumbsup: We should have lot of pics because I got Elaine, my wife, a new underwater camer for Christmas. The old one is bulky and kills batteries pretty quickly... but it's old.

I had one of mine do that when I initially got it... but I was also running it at a lower voltage. After breaking in for a few weeks, It now runs flawlessly!

FYI.... The very first pump that I received and put in operation, has always been a little noisy. I had taken it apart before and cleaned it, but it didn't seem to make any difference in the noise level. Over the last week it has become increasingly louder, so I decided to take it apart and see what I could find out. Under closer inspection I noticed that the front bearing didn't appear to be fully seated in the housing, so I firmly pushed it back into the housing, When I restarted it, I didn't think that it was working because I didn't hear anything?! This pump is now the quietest one I have! I plan on taking the other 2 apart tomorrow and inspecting them. Just wanted to pass this on.

Mine is running stock no changes in wattage. I feel that maybe the magnet has some influence on start up and when its turned it doesn't. Either way it sucks and should work fine right out of the box. So michaeleee you are saying that it is now working fine at normal voltage, or now working fine at reduced voltage? I have 150 and 250gallon and will be using at full voltage

It works fine all the way from 12v to 24v!

I just received mine yesterday and it is very loud. I can hear it ramping up and down from the other room, 15-20 feet away. Is this something the rest of you are experiencing? Does it quiet down after a few weeks (I read that somewhere)? Should I contach fish-street about it?

Just saw this... I will try it when I get home because mine is really noisy. How does the front cover come off? Thanks for the tip...

To open the pump just grasp the front half of the housing and twist counter clockwise. Also make sure there is no molding casting left on the impeller, as this can throw it out of balance. Good Luck!

He didn't open the sealed component, just the guard so he could access the impeller.
Does it bother anyone else that people can't read. People have stated numerous times in this thread how long it took them to get it anywhere from a few days to a few weeks

Get Certified for scuba. Looks like you will be traveling about the country? If you go to Ambergris Kaye make sure you check out Shark Alley snorkel/dive. The critters there are super friendly they literally grab a nurse shark for you to hug.

Not interested in diving, we have too much fun snorkeling. We are staying in Placencia which is a small village that is becoming a resort area. It's a peninsula that is on the ocean about 60-90 miles south of Belize City. I am so looking forward to it!
