anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Sounds like someone mad they spent too much. If there were a ton of problems out the box you definitely would hear about them. I am interested in seeing how EcoTech and Tunze reacts to this from a price standpoint. Litigation will get them nothing since they probably don't have patents in all the countries needed. And with no direct sellers in the US they will just be waisting their money on lawyers.

3000 post does not equate 3000 owners, maybe more like 100 owners in this thread, if that. That's excluding people who do not post on forums to voice their

Where do I base my opinion? People posting about controllers failing only 2 months in. Magnets built to close to internal magnet causing friction. DOA products. Warranty on only the pump and not the controller? When I buy a product, I want the whole thing to be covered under the warranty, not just specific parts.

Stop trolling. There has been a couple of people to have issues. It happens. Overall for now these have held up right next to the big names.

Shall I pull up a handful of threads where ecotech arrived with a bad controller, wet side, etc.

stop being a fanboy. It's only 2 months in.

Well if there is one sure fire way to get this thread closed it won't be links to Ebay, it will be people starting a flame war over a pump :blown:

On another note, I have a 75 gallon tank and I was looking at getting the WP40 and running it at 15V (Maybe a little higher?) because of how strong everyone says they are. Now my only concern is that I currently have a sump running at around 1100GPH already. With the pump running at it 15V or so how much flow is that in GPH? I am little worried because at minimum I'll have a 29x turnover rate and at maximum I'll have a 60x turnover rate :spin1:

I only have zoas in there at the moment and am still slowly getting used to corals so I don't know how long it will be before I branch into SPS, I'm hoping LPS within the next month or two though. Should I be concerned about the level of flow this pump is going to add to my tank? SPS wouldn't mind it I'm sure but what about softies and LPS?

Also while we are on the subject of fish street, has anyone bought their 6x54W T5HO fixture? I don't really like the gap between the three sets of bulbs they have but I was wondering if it might be worth it to get that and sell my ATI Sunpower 4x54? Obviously I would buy proper bulbs for the 6 bulb fixture but would the 2 more bulbs be worth exchanging the ATI fixture for it?

P.S sorry for the short story

I would highly suggest looking into the wp25 pump for a 75 gal. I ordered 2 of each as I was not sure which would work best but after seeing video's of the wp25 in tanks around 75 gal I am sure it will be plenty.

The WP25 is still on pre-order though correct? If I was to dial the WP40 down to 12v, assuming that is in fact the minimum on the pump fish street mentions on their site (4,300L). I'd be sitting around the same turnover rate in the tank that I have right now, just with one pump instead of three. Has anyone had the chance to test the actual GPH of these pumps? I did manage to read through this whole novel of a thread and while I don't remember reading it, its very possible I forgot about it in the 126 pages!

I'd prefer to go with the single WP40 if possible as I'll be upgrading to a 125 within the next 8 months or so and I'd rather have two WP40s than four WP25s.

Good call on the light fixture, the thought never even crossed my mind!

i forgot to ask, why do you have so much flow running through the sump? you really only want 3-5x turnover through there.

and I agree the ATI fixture will prob. be much better than that 6 bulb unit.

yes, the 25's are still on preorder, my 2 come in today so I can test them in my 75 gal. tank though:D

I think everyone is only going by what the box says for actual GPH however alot of people seem to think it is more.

I wouldn't get rid of your sunpower... that's about as good as it gets for t5 lights if I understand right.

That is what I'm thinking as well, but would the benefits of two extra bulbs outweigh the fact that its an ATI fixture?

Well lets nix the Chinese fixture entirely as it won't even run over here, what about say a Tek or Sunlight Supply 6x54W would the two extra bulbs be better than the 4 provided by my ATI?

My reason for having so much flow through my sump was more so for future proofing of the tank when I eventually upgrade to the 125 or larger, though now that I look at it I see I'd still be sitting at 8.8 turnover rate. Would this explain why my skimmer doesn't produce much skimmate?

I definitely think it is more.
I wound up putting it on my RA and tuned it down to the same speed I was happy with the WP40 at, which was 30-50%.

yes that would explain why the skimmer isn't takeing much out. the lower the flow through the sump will give the skimmer time to take it out. with to much flow most of the water is just going in and out of the skimmer and not getting alot of contact time.

I can't say for sure if the 2 extra bulbs will make that much of a diffrence except you can add more diffrent colors to the setup. but from what I hear of the ATI fixtures the cooling and reflectors let the unit get great par. when I ran T5's over my 75 gal I only used 4 bulbs and could grow anything, anywhere in the tank. I just missed the shimmer so I went back to MH's

Well good thing I install a ball valve on my return pump! My only worry now is to make sure I don't slow it so much that I collect air in my overflow U pipes, but that is just a matter of tweaking the ball valve.

Thank you for easing my mind on the light fixture, all this reading I've been doing about 6-8 bulb fixtures was making me feel inadequate haha

Yes, your 4x54w ATI fixture will grow SPS and clams just fine on a 75g. Don't get me wrong, a 6x54w would do it better. But buying a cheap 6x54w will not really be an improvement over your ATI.

If you want to spend some cash and give it a little more punch just bolt on a couple of Reefbrite strips.

The main interest in buying the cheaper fixture was actually in the hopes that I could sell the ATI and maybe make some money back. While I like the ATI fixture I don't understand the big hub-bub about it, I guess most of it just lies in the reflectors though. In which case if I was to buy some quality reflectors I could just DIY a fixture up and get similar (if not the same?) results.
