anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

my lfs has one on his 300gal and that bugger makes some waves and he had going against mp40 and just had to say very disappointed on the mp40 no making a splash think of getting just one for my 120gal.... at $80 dollars not bad but yes i know Chinese but even the cost of a mp40 makes up for this cheep wave maker aslo getting the adapter for reducing the voltage to make less of a splash found it on ebay

No low voltage, plug and play. I have it hooked up to my RKE and it is off from 9PM-6AM

So after contacting Fish-street they are telling me the controller is not covered by warranty, Only the pump. 2 months and the thing is going crazy already, had to give it a try. Will use until the pump goes dead, just cannot use any of the controller functions

Sorry to here about that.
They said the controller was not covered at all?
They replaced mine because it just stopped working, No lights on it even though the power supply had a light.

The problem I have was not actually anything wrong with the pump or the controller. I was trying to modify it and messed something up.
Fish-Street didn't question the return. I just said that the controller had no lights on it but the PS did and they charged me for shipping and sent me a new controller.

So people are starting to have problems with the wp40?

Everyone raves and jumps on the bandwagon for new cheap knockoff products that have nly been out for a few months. I on the otherhand will let these be the beta testers and wait another year until i purchase one. I hope they withstand the time test, but so far it isnt looking too pretty

I think you may be jumping the gun a little. We have had a whole lot of happy wp40 owners and only a few complaining about issues.

How many people are having problems?

I only know of jdezek.

There are over 3000 posts and one, maybe two people have had a problem.

Where do you get your facts from?

You'll wait for a year? there's going to be a new knockoff then lol!

For those of you that have these pumps, how well would you say the inside magnet is coated? That is more of my main worry about these pumps is that the magnet is coated properly and water gets into them and eats away at them.

My pumps dont arrive till friday so just wondering.

I personally do not have a problem with the fact that the controller failed as any product that is mass manufactured will have an occasional defective unit but I am concerned about the response that the controller is not covered under warrantee, especially after only two months of use. Half of this product's value is in the controller.

Tunze impeller magnets dont seem to be coated with anything and they do fine in saltwater so a lack of magnet shielding may not mean anything.

Its not the impeller magnet im worried about, im worried about the one that holds it to the glass.

Tunze uses ferrite magnets which dont need to be covered but if jeabo used neodymium magnets to save money, they have to be covered

Yes just wait a year and then a year more after a new one comes out :D lol
So far looks very pleasing even ecotech has noticed I bet there a bit unhappy with drop in buys.

I didnt say I had any problems with mine yet. Just wondering how many people have had issues so far and what kind of issues.

Sorry, I got confuse with everyone on here.
I meant jvr1102

Well as I suspected I have had my pump two months now and it is starting to malfunction. The feed mode goes on for 5 seconds and shuts off. The pump is still flowing fine but to turn it off and feed I need to unplug it, and the only mode that works is Else mode, every other mode flows like else mode. Luckily for me that is the mode I use. Still is a great pump for the price but hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.

Couple that with the night mode not working properly I am starting to thing long term this pump will not pass the test.

Just my experience...

I know one company has gotten a cease and desist order from Tunze to stop selling it.

3000 post does not equate 3000 owners, maybe more like 100 owners in this thread, if that. That's excluding people who do not post on forums to voice their opinions.

I'm not here to get into a argument about a product that's been out for 2 months. I stated my opinion on the matter and said I hope it works out in the end because hell I'd love to have a pump for $90 instead of $160-$300.

Where do I base my opinion? People posting about controllers failing only 2 months in. Magnets built to close to internal magnet causing friction. DOA products. Warranty on only the pump and not the controller? When I buy a product, I want the whole thing to be covered under the warranty, not just specific parts.

I'm a Tunze/Ecotech user, both have proved reliable in my 7 years of reefing. Warranty has never been an issue even when the product is out of warranty. Some like a cheap non-time tested proven pump. Me I have more then $300 invested into my tank, I value my livestock's health to risk something to save a few bucks. Again, if in a year this product is still functioning with no issues. Consider me a supporter, until then........................
