anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Yeah I said it has only happened to a couple of people and they may have been using them at a reduced voltage like SimonSKL.

I run mine at full power. Using a RK controller to cut power at night. It may go a week at a time and retain the setting I run on. Then the next couple of days it will reset. Seems to be hit or miss.

You have yours hooked up to a ReefKeeper?
This is the first time I've heard of anyone using it with a ReefKeeper.
Is there a tutorial some where for other ReefKeeper owners?

I plugged my two WPs to my RKE controller also but I just use it to control on and off times as well as turning them off at night.

RKE has a APC module compatible with Tunze pumps but I don't know if it will be able to control a WP40. May be someone with experience with APC can chime in.

I've been following this thread and the WP25 (along with some others) since the beginning and I don't recall anyone controlling the speed of the WP's with an RK.

I may be wrong, but I don't remember seeing it.

I have had a wp40 running for about 2 months now and just got a second one last week. I can say the second one is operating much stronger than the original one. I guess over time the first one has lost some power...??? I hadn't really noticed the power loss until I plugged in the new one and was like WHOA that's a big difference! I probably need to clean my original and see if that's the problem.....

David, were you able to ascertain why your pump lost power?

I only use it for night mode. Nothing else. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh Ok. That's fine. Like I said. I don't believe anyone has gotten the WP-40 (or 25) to be controlled speed wise by the Reef Keeper yet, but I'm sure there are people working on it.

I will be adding another 40 for the opposite side of the tank to simulate tidal flow

Hey tree, I have a 125 im finishing off. Are you getting dead spots and thats why you are adding another on the far side. From most the videos I;ve watched people seem to get solid movement. I was thinking about using two on the same wall like in a peninsula style tank though I'm aquascaping pillars and ledges. I was also thinking about using 25s once the kinks get straightened out.

What do you think?

ReefKeeper controlled WP40-WP25

Yes, you can control up to 4 WP40-25 pumps with the APC module, but you have to add two resistors to the cable adapter that act as a voltage divider to convert to 0-5V, is the same mod used on the APEX controller.

Tunze(R) Pump Control
The primary purpose for the Advanced Pump Controller (APC) it so control the Tunze brand stream pumps. This module allows you to integrate these pumps into your system and control them via your ReefKeeper (Lite or Elite).
Storm Mode Integration
The APC allows you to integrate these pumps with our new storm mode feature allowing for the generation of turbulent flow.
Night Mode
The APC has special options at night to calm your tank to simulate the stillness of the evening hours in your aquarium. This gives fish the ability to rest.
Multiple Modes
With a master/slave mode as well as sequential you'll fine the APC paired with the ReefKeeper has you covered!

No dead spots I just don't like all the flow going in one direction all the time. I would do two for alternating flow direction. I would also go with 40s to give you the option of more flow when/if you need it. Example mine is dialed back but once a week I run it at full power to clean things out

Thanks Dactylopterus it's good to know that the WP40 and probably 25 can work on the Reef Keeper controllers as well as the Apex and Reef Angel.

I have seen this mentioned a few times and a voltage divider should not be needed. If the controller is capable of 0-10v output and the pump accepts 0-5v input then simply run the controller at 50% power to achieve 100% power at the pump.
