anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Not a whole lot in updates. I visited several international reef forums from Greece, Germany, Spain, South Africa, and Singapore. All wanting to know more about this pump. Singapore forum seemed to have a few individuals just purchased this unit. They seemed to be pleased with the power and flow but it is too early to tell about durability. They also mentioned a smaller version WP25 will be coming up after the Chinese New Year at about half the price.

Yesterday I ordered a wp40 and a couple of other items from fish-street. They got back to me quickly to confirm the order. They also got back to me a 2nd time to let me know they were refunding some of my payment because an electrical item I ordered is 220v and would need special service in the US. They could just as easily have sent the very inexpensive switch and have me ticked off when I got it as it wouldn't work (well, it could, but hardly worth the effort) and it would be too cheap to send back for a refund. So at least they are honest and fair (so far). And this morning my order is already been shipped!

There is a wp25 coming some time in the next month or 2. I only got one wp40 to check out the quality. If it's good, I'll probably order a 2nd and maybe a wp25 for my anemone and QT tanks... maybe even the frag tank... hmmmm.

This is an excellent point about ordering anything electrical outside the U.S. Almost every continent of the world except North American is using 220v. You can't assume the person who puts in your order at the other end knows what voltage you use.

Looking forward to your review once you received your unit. My biggest concern remains the lack of adjustment of the current intensity. I have two MP40WES in my 125g and I run them at 60% intensity. At 100%, it would be too strong and too noisy for my room. If the current in the WP40 cannot be adjusted, it may be a deal breaker for me.

Simon and all,

As soon as it arives I'll post up pics and get it installed. I have already moved some mag rocks on the side glass to make room for it! The specs say 13,000Lph which is 3400gph. That's a lot... even more than an MP40. The other modes are 1710gph and 1130gph. They are kind of vague on details in the ads and even in the instructions (I found an set in english on a Singapore website).

The Singapore reef forum seemed to have some users with experience of the actual product and I downloaded the English version of the user manual but I don't know how to attach the doc here. If anyone is interested I can email that to him/her. Just PM me.

Thanks for the info Simon and Ron. I did get the instructions off that site and I'll atach them here, hopefully. I ordered a pump on Tuesday.

Wow, that wasn't easy. Tried word document but that was way to big...tried to convert to pdf...still too big, so it looks like you get 3 pages individually.

Saltydogs, thanks for the attachments. Looks like the magnetic base is similar to the Hydor system using a combination of suction cup and magnets on both sides of the glass. The four rubber legs will help dampen vibration from the pump.

Jebo also goes by Jebao. They also sell a full line of aquarium and pond products so they are not exactly a new comer to water pumps.

Unless that unsightly power cord dissapears i am certainly not upset at owning my 4 vortechs. Also wouldnt use jebo ( oddesey ) again. JMO

Are you saying you have owned the Jebo WP40 before? If yes, please share your experience.

I also have 2 Vortech MP40WES and am very pleased with them but the price is just too high for me to put two more in my other tank. That why I am interested to any Vortech alternatives. The cord is definitely a negative but Tunze also have a cord in the water.

I understand you have already paid for your MP40's and wouldn't trade them for Jebo wp40's. That makes perfect sense. However, those of us who would like an adjustable high flow powerhead get to decide if we want to spend the addition $350 just to avoid a power cord. I'll be happy to deal with a power cord in order to reduce my cost by $350 per pump. Or by almost $700 if I want two of them, or in your case, $1400 to have 4 of them! I have no illusions that a Jebo wp40 is as good as an MP40, but is it really worth the extra $350... my gut tells me I won't. That is the salient point of this conversation. :headwalls:

Not too long ago, many people wouldn't buy any LED light from China. Now practically every LED is made in China and some US brands assemble their fixtures in US. Many users of brand name LED such as Maxspect and Evergrow are very happy with their purchases.

Judge a product only after you have direct experience with it otherwise please keep an open mind.

It doesn't seem to have to much control on flow rate, can anyone elaborate on how much control it has on flow I'm just not understanding these instructions and descriptions

If i were to do it again, it would be all vortech every time. I have owned tunze as well. No jebo for me because a halide light of mine caught fire while i was home. Yes any equiptment can fail but iv'e owned my vortechs for almost 5 yrs and the only thing i have had to replace was one driver.

i got mine from the fish shop today and was so impressed with just setting at low .*Worth every cent , no need of the difficulty in setting up the wave

The wave was so high*

I see you also have a Vortech MP40 in your tank, how does WP40 compare to MP40 in terms of wave height and pump noise. Can you adjust the flow up or down in any of the "W" mode.

Btw, nice looking tank you have there.

i have a Mp60W in my 4x2x2 ft tank but i understand i can help the same wave . i am trying to share that i did not have to tune at all , plug and play no adjusting needed for me and no noise at all :D:D
