anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

So altogether, you can get 36 hours (or more) of battery backup, a wave pump capable of pushing the same water as an MP40, with Apex/Reef Angel control, for $105+~$100+$30 = $235!!!

Vortech MP-40 with battery backup and WXM unit $465+$165+$120 = $750

Tunze 6105 with battery backup and apex control = $347+~$100 = $447

WP-40 with battery backup and apex control = $235.

What a difference. This is amazing.

Actually, that Tunze connector to a 12v 18a sealed lead acid battery would probably be best. It should function exactly like connecting to a Tunze pump would, and be cheaper than a Vortech BBU. Awesome!!!!!! I need to grab one of these and take a look.

it is very easy to do for a Vortech. I got a belkin battery backup (UPS) from ebay for cheap. I then replaced part of the original connector with the EcoTech fused battery-backup connector. 5 minute job and it is plug and play. It should work the same for this pump too.

That could work, but you may still need a relay for it to run at 24v instead of 12v when attached. That is why the Tunze connector might work better, unless I'm overthinking it. For $20 more you can attach a 12v 18ah sealed lead acid battery instead for up to 36 hours instead of 7.

True. This is just 7.2 Amp-hour battery and 12VDC, not the 18 Amp-hour battery that Vortech uses. I just need some extra time before I can hook everything up to a generator.
 
... and I'll still be way ahead after I sell off my Vortechs.

LOL! Got to love that.

I just thought about this and am wondering if I am wrong. If we hook these up to the 0-10V connector on the Apex, will that decrease the speed of which the pumps are running or is this just for control? Sorry if this is common knowledge, but have never hooked anything up to the variable ports before.
 
My tank has 3/4 inch thick glass. Will the magnets on these pumps hold on glass that thick?

The specifications said the glass should be less than 15mm or about 0.6". In addition to the magnets there is also a suction cup on each magnet, very similar to Koralia pump base. So your 3/4" glass may be a little iffy.
 
I just picked one up for my 65, I have two korillia 425's that just don't do it. I also have a reef angel controller and might just have to test out that side. Though with only one pump I really don't know if there would be much of a need other than power output.
 
OK, I readily admit to being a bit slow on the DC side of electronics. That said, if I'm looking for short term fix, say a few hours, wouldn't a computer battery back up work? I ask because I'd like my dosing pumps on it as well (they lose their memory if the lose power). Just plug the battery backup in and plug the WP40 and my dosing pump in and I'm done. Say something like this:

Ron, I was thinking the same thing about UPS too. I think the problem is the batteries inside the UPS are typically very small and don't last very long. The battery in the Vortech backup battery is 12V 18AH while the one your link refer to is 12V 7AH. So it will only last 1 to 2 hours the most depending on how many devices are plugged in.

Even worse, a UPS is not a 12v DC device like the battery is, so the 120v conversion wastes more energy, and will provide about half of that 7AH figure. It will work for a few hours, but it is inefficient.
 
After seeing video , configuration and price of jeabo wp 40 . It’s excellent . If Jebao make spare parts none cant copit with wp 40. As a user I must buy for my small fish only because Sicce vager 10 also costly than wp 40 and they cannot crate ground swell , swell.

I am trying to understand how this may work with the WP40. So you plug the 24V plug from the factory 24V Power Supply to the top where it says Power supply. Then you plug the connector that connects to where it says Turbelle Pump to the power input on the WP40 controller. Then you connect the red and black wires from the 12-24V battery to the positive and negative terminals of the battery. The battery is also connected to a slow charger. Correct?

This setup will run the WP40 on 24V when regular household power is on but when power to the house is out, the Safety Connector will automatically switch to the battery and provide the WP40 controller with 12V DC power. Correct?

Cool! That's quite easy to do. A 12V 18Ah battery from Amazon is around $40.
