anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

ANyone have any BAD reviews of these pumps yet? I'm curious as to their reliability.

I've had one since December that has never worked right. I've replaced power cord, ac adapter, impellar, and impellar bushings and finally they just had to send me a new pump. I've paid almost $75 in just shipping and parts so at least I didn't have to pay for the replacement pump. We shall see how long this one lasts. I'm not confident"¦

Slime buildup on the intake slits usually seems to be the culprit with these and other prop pumps. My Koralia's even need cleaned in a vinegar bath every couple months or they even have a drastic drop in flow.

The jeboa pump intake strainer slits are more narrow than most comparable pumps so it seems they clog easier.

I've read people suggesting the idea of removing a few bands of plastic or widening the slits to improve performance. Has anyone documented trying this?

It's easy to imagine the pumps getting clogged but I don't think that's what's going on here. Some of these have been replaced as a warranty issue. I'd like to know why the pump failed to perform.

The only part of the WP40 that I can imagine being suseptable to corrosin damage from a vinegar soak is the magnet on the impeller. The impeller shaft and bushings seem to made of ceramic and all the rest of the exposed pump is plastic/rubber/epoxy type stuff. It seems like that magnet must be coated with something. I don't want to beak it half to find out.

I know I've seen it, but I can't find it now. Can someone tell me what page has the picture showing how to connect the pump to a battery and the tunze safety connector? I am setting mine up and strangely enough, the tunze power plug fits into the Jebao controller just fine, but the jebao power plug doesn't seem to fit into the tunze safety connector power supply port. Thanks in advance.

Rebuilding my 220 (72x24x29) and picked up two WP-40s. 66" C2C internal and two larger pillars for rockwork. Any recommendations for placement and speeds? Barebottomed a corner last night while I slept from a 5" DSB. Guess it will be a little longer before the fish go back in now...

That's why I have finally ditched sand and home back to a 1 inch layer of crushed coral. I can blow the heck out of the tank to remove nutrients and vacuum the gravel once a week when I do water changes. I feel water I lost in filtration I'm making up for in better circulation and better nutrient export into my filter sock.

A WP-40. Personally I would wait until I could get 2 WP-25's.
I'm trying to keep costs down right now until I finish school which is about another year. I have a handful of SunSun powerheads from 800gph to 1600gph.

I think I could run an 800 on 1 side and a WP40 on the other, how does that sound?

Anyone using a Wp40 ever had a problem with setting the wave maker to a 75% power? I can set it to S1 =100% and to s3=50% but it just jumps the s2=75% power. I have emailed fish-street but they keep giving me answers for everything but a fix for this.

I ordered two wp40s yesterday. I simply cannot wait. I shipped to my relative in the states and so have to wait for him to send it to me, so I probably won't get them before the end of the year but still very exciting.
To think, just last week I was gonna fork out $6400 TT dollars for two mp40's I told my supplier yes twice and no three times, just didn't really want to spend the money with Christmas right around the corner.:bounce3:

I have two WP-40s on my 150 and I love them. I have had them since August and not had any problems with them at all. I have one running about midway down one side pointing behind my rocks. The other one is near the top opposite side directed on the front side of the rocks. I change the settings on both pumps several times a day to change the flow pattern. So really I cannot complain one bit about the pumps what so ever. Since I have ha them I feel my tank looks much healthier.

The power heads arrived by my relatives in the states today. I ordered them only 3 days ago. Was not expecting them so soon.

Yes the powerless arrive slot faster than one would expect. I also wanted to say I have been having problems with my controller it would not work in s2 which is 75% I emailed fish street and they sent me a new controller.. Must say very pleased with the power head and support from fish street.

Here was my mod to adjust the speed of the pump without needing an adjustable power supply. I've been running them like this for a month now no issues. And it only cost 3 bucks.

I can turn the pump down all the way in all modes. Works perfectly.
