anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

I've been very happy with my wp40 for the price... My sps have responded well to the varied pattern as I'm running one on a 95 Wave(4' tank)... Running the W1 at s2 for now... might try changing it up later but so far so good :)

my wp40 does not run as strong as it should even after cleaning it . i am using the 1st gen controller will it help to change it to the latest controller ?

Ok sorry if this has been asked and answered already but I'm not reading 325pgs about a powerhead lol, would a wp40 be typo much for my 57g rimlesd deep blue?

I have 2 wp40s in a box for when I feel I need to switch out my voyager 4s, on my other tan I have mp40s. I dont clean them often and they have been running 3 years no issues, but I didn't want to spend 700 on another two for my new addition.

My system was chosen as TOTM for October and it runs the wp40 as the only circ pump on a jam - packed 90g Reef

The rest of the club couldn't get over the idea that I only needed the 1 pump to get that much wave action and flow... and it's set to 75% (S2), no less! Especially the Vortech crowd... "we want proof; photos don't prove anything"...

Hows your club feel about 24 fish in a 90g....

^ also im new to saltwater but that many fish and corals added to a tank in 3 months seems kind of high. IMO am I wrong here

I'd think if your present controller runs through all the modes and is not acting up, a new controller won't make any difference.

Have you ever run your pump on anything other than the stock power supply and controller?

How long have you run it?

running about 1 month plus

Any sign of wear on the back of the impeller or the two 'journals', the parts that spin inside the bushings?

Did you very closely check to make sure the bushings are properly seated in the rubber grommets and the grommets are properly seated in the pump body?

Absolutely no debris inside the bushings?

Ingtar: they were a little apprehensive at first, and most wouldn't try to keep that many fish in that size tank... but, the 'proof is in the pudding' - you don't see any sick or stressed out fish in there, do you? Everybody's eating, healthly, well - colored, no ripped finss or nipped tails. The corals are all thriving, including the SPS; healthy gorgs and sponges, etc in there, too. No cyano or HA, either...

And down to 23 fish now. Moved out the male Banggai because he is carrying eggs...

Apatz: Definitely not something for a newbie to consider. But I've been at this a long time (set up my first SW tank 36 years ago) and there is a method to doing it that way.

OK, answered your questions, don't want to hijack the thread.

Back to talking about these great pumps!

:spin1:

I would think 2 WP-60's would be enough. I have a 210 with one 40 and just got a second for it and that is plenty for my tank.

I have a 210 gal (6x2x30") and have had two WP40'S going for several months running thru my reef angel (various power levels throughout the day 60-80%) and I'm thinking of adding a third... Wp60 this time :-)

My "problem" with only 2 pumps is that I have oolite sand and so I can't run pumps wide open. A third pump would allow a third random directional flow that would definitely eliminate my few slow spots...

I posted this question on the WP60 thread as well:

I've got a 215 mixed reef tank currently running 3 Koralia 1400s and a Tunze wavebox. I'd like to replace the Koralias, but I'm debating between one WP60 and Two WP40s. Any advice would be much appreciated!

I am looking for a more of a slow speed extremly high volume push and pulse. It seems no matter what sand you have, if you have something that spits out jets of water, your gonna move it. That leaves me with the idea of one big prop to get the water from one end of the tank to the other without having 500mph currents. Wait, what is that in naut's?

Edit: There is a WP60 thread also? Interesting........
