anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

d I think by now we can say the Jebo WP40 pump is a game changing product in wave making and water flow category.

The only remaining question is the reliability of this pump which only time will tell.

Will you agree?

I don't agree at all. This is a pump that I've read about on 3 major forums around the world but it has only been out for a month or two. I'm not convinced it will hold up to a 24/7 multi-year operations test, and as where I understand the price breakdown vs vortechs, it certainly doesn't change the game.

I will however be trying one out on my new 125, but the Vortechs on my current 125 are staying put, and I know they will stay put and operate well for years to come.

I really hope the WP-25s come out with a method of reducing power other than the non-elegant addition of another piece of electrical equipment, but beggars can't be choosers.

If the reviews from around the world have convinced you to try this pump. I rest my case:D

I'm very tired of my MP60 sounding like a cordless drill running in my tank all of the time, I am going to order one WP40 and if It looks ok in the tank I will purchace another... :spin3:

I hope they are good enough to make me want to sell my MP60. I will be modding the front cover though, I have always liked the broad flow from the vortech's and the massive undertow they create, mabey I can make these match that...:smokin:

We also confirmed the pump can be used with a timer. There is also no reason not to believe that this pump can run on battery backup using a similar set up with a Tunze Safety Connector to a 12V battery. One thing we need to explore and confirm is whether the pump can be controlled by an external controller like APEX, ReefAngel, or other PWM or 0-10v controller.

Stay tuned on this point. A ReefAngel user is expecting his pump this week and will be making it available to RA for analysis. This will determine once and for all what it is using as the control mechanism and if it can be interfaced to directly.

Just keep in mind about the thickness of your glass as WP40 is designed for glass thickness no more than 0.6".

How would the tunze magnet extension work with the wp40 as far as the size matching up? Of course it would add $60 to the cost but should be able to make it work with 3/4 inch glass? Still about half price of a tunze 6105.

Got my Tunze safety connector today. The bad news, is that the regular power supply cord head doesn't fit it without cutting and replacing it. The good news is, the universal power supplies have universal heads, and one of them fits :)

I'm way too tired from a 13 hour work day to wire this up, but it should be very easy to wire this battery backup together.

There are a few things I wanted to add. First, that light sensor is really small, so small I couldn't find it in the box. It must have been knocked out when my cat decided to play with the box. It doesn't matter, because I didn't intend to use it. Second, with the power supply set to 19v and in 'else' mode, I could hear the pump ramp up and down from 20 feet away if it's really quiet, but at 15v I have to put my ear up next to the pump to hear anything. So, for now, I will be running it at 15v since I value the silence more so than the extra flow 19v will give me.

Thanks for the advice, but I have already checked, my side panes of glass are 0.5" :spin1:
