anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

My pump left Hong Kong today. How long until it arrives do you think? I'm in Ga...

There are a few things I wanted to add. First, that light sensor is really small, so small I couldn't find it in the box. It must have been knocked out when my cat decided to play with the box. It doesn't matter, because I didn't intend to use it. Second, with the power supply set to 19v and in 'else' mode, I could hear the pump ramp up and down from 20 feet away if it's really quiet, but at 15v I have to put my ear up next to the pump to hear anything. So, for now, I will be running it at 15v since I value the silence more so than the extra flow 19v will give me.

When I got mine I had similar issues. I could barely hear it unless I was right on top of it, or if it was 25 feet away at my computer? At 6-8' away, at the breakfast table, I couldn't hear it at all?

It ran a week in the W2 mode until the new power converter arrived. I ran it for a few days at 15V in W1 mode then bumped it up to 18V. It's been 6 days at 18V in W1 mode and I can't hear it anymore unless I put my ear right behind it. It was very loud enough to bother me or my wife. Now I admit I'm can't hear high pitch sounds due to not wearing ear plugs when I raced cars, but my wife has ears like a hawk and it didn't bother her either. So it may just need some 'break in' time.

How do you keep a 4" wave overflowing the top of the tank???

When I bought the Tunze Wavebox, I cut my overflow 2" lower than it was initially. That allowed me to get a huge wave with the Tunze. So basically lowered the water level in my tank to 3" below the top. I definitely regret doing it.

FWIW, Owls have much better hearing than hawks....:clown:

I got my shipping notice on Saturday, so I might see mine next week.

Does anyone know what kind of control (PWM, 0-10) the Tunze 7105 has? I don't have an Apex controller, I have Tunze 7105 controller, but the pumps have started to fail. It is either buy new Tunze pumps, or start over with these. If I could use my existing 7105 somehow to control these WP40's...

From what more knowledgeable people have seen, does this look possible?

Thanks in advance...

5-6 days depends if you are in the city or rural route.

Just an fyi for those like me who are so impatient:
I ordered mine on 2/28. Tracking said it left hong kong on 3/3 then USPS says they received it in San Francisco on 3/6. Hope to get by tomorrow (in PA)

I have been battling a cyanobacterial outbreak in my 92g tank for a few months. I have reduced the lighting intensity and period, water change, siphoning... etc and that stuff kept coming back every day. I replaced my Polario 15ML (3500gph) and Koralia Mag 5 (1600gph) powerheads with two WP40s on 2/25/13. Each day since the two WP40s are running, the cyanobacteria gradually disappeared and I have gone back to full photoperiod and light intensity for the last 4 days. Today or 10 days after the WP40s were put in, the brownish red slimy cyano is pretty much all gone except in a couple small spots. The strong water movement in the tank clearly made a difference in getting rid of the cyanobacteria. I thought I would share this with you.

Simon,
That's really good news to hear regarding your tank as well as good info to anybody considering a WP40 or the soon to be released (we hope) WP25.

Which power converter are you guys using? My sister found these jebao for me from china for 59 thinking of asking her to bring it back for me.

We would need more info on the 7105.

The power converter supplied with the pump should work internationally so you just need a US 110v cord/plug which is the same as a computer power cord.

Thought I'd share a couple of pics of the tank with the pumps installed. My corals have never looked better. :)

The Koralias in the back are not turned on and will be pulled out of the tank.

Very nice tank! What did you use for flow before besides the Koralias in the back?

Anyone hook these up to a KillaWatt to get power consumption? I'm curious to see what these pull at various setting and voltage. I'm running 4, koralia evo 1400s in my 180. With the smart wave and all PH, the consuption is 56 watts. I was thinking of going tunze, especially for power and low energy usage. But these WPs look the they're the BUSINESS!! So I'm leaning towards these. Hoping to just use 2, which seems like it will be enough. The only thing holding me back is that I like to use equipment that's low consuption. I'm on the bubble for the next highest tier for my electric bill. Once I hit that, anything over will be 3x the cost of normal. Electricity is being held hostage here in San Diego. Thanks in advance for anyone that post.

Ron did that earlier in the thread. Here is a link to his post on this thread. He said between 0 and 48W.

Here is some interesting info about power consumption of the WP40. Using a Kill-A-Watt meter in W1 mode running at 19.5V, the pump consumes around 13W. In ELSE mode running at 15V, the meter fluctuates between 4 and 19 watts randomly. This further confirms the randomness of the ELSE mode in which the pump ramps up and down. I would also say the pump is rather efficient in power consumption.
